Good choice in general

Value for money. Good service and friendly staff. Continental breakfast is good. The only setback is that a loud noise of the alarm woke up everyone at around 5:55am accidentally and it lasted for a few seconds.

We stayed for here for a concert at First Direct Arena and it was extremely convenient. Although it was clean and beds were fairly comfortable, the hotel room was very stuffy/warm and we could not control the temperature of the room. There were no washcloths available and only half a roll of toilet paper upon arrival. We had to call for more & some extra towels. The water in the shower also wasn’t very warm. They have a cooler/snack area but there was weirdly no water available so we had to go to Gregg’s to grab waters. Upon check out we asked for help calling a taxi and the front desk worker failed to tell us that they booked it as cash only. We’re not from the area and only had USD. Luckily the cab driver had a card reader otherwise I’m not sure what we would have done. It also felt like me asking for help calling a taxi was an inconvenience despite a different girl at check-in telling us they could definitely help with that. Overall the convenience of location was great but I don’t know that we’d stay here again.

The check-in with the staff with the ring through her nose was a bit sad. Not very friendly and didn't care or explained anything. I wrote an email a day before checking to request a quiet room. No-one answered and also the lady with the nose ring at reception didn't care at all. "It should be quiet" - nope, was not, room facing a 4 lane street above a bus stop. Bed was comfortable, no fridge in room. Breakfast was good. Sadly no gym.

The hotel has been refurbished recently to a high standard; the bedroom was a decent size, comfortable, and quiet. However it is utterly unacceptable not to provide a luggage storage facility large enough to accommodate the number of bags likely to be left over the course of the day — and to have no idea in advance whether you may or may not be able to store your bag. Consequently I didn’t have enough time to find somewhere else nearby before my appointment which not only meant having to take it with me and carting it around (the appointment was not for something where I was staying in one place) but also caused additional expense afterwards as needed to leave it somewhere for the rest of the day. Both created considerable inconvenience and frustration. I will not be returning as a customer to this hotel until better luggage storage facilities are sorted out.
