“I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. ”

“On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off……

“Room was OK but bathroom a little cramped at sink, plus shower difficult to sort out so the water was not red hot. Nice enough hotel breakfast freshly cooked and good.”

“Situated in a picture postcard little village, everything about the hotel was top notch, the decor throughout and our room was tasteful and modern, everything was spotless and clean. “First time stating in hotel although haven to Dales many times before. Overall it’s fine but not fabulous. Food is good, tasty especially the breakfast . Personally preferred the bar food to Palmers. Service was variable but most staff were very attentive. Room was comfortable, especially the bed, great shower, large TV. No air con and noisy when window opened as our room ‘ Aysgarth’ was main road facing . Generally the carpets needed a good clean on the stairs and landing . Sadly weather was……
