Perfect little barn for me my partner and our Labrador. Very clean. The bed so comfy. Welcome pack, log burning stove. Outside seating lovely views, next to the river. Within walking distance of a lovely pub. Lots of lovely walks nearby. Perfect spot to holiday, and explore. Lots of lovely pubs in nearby villages didn’t have to travel far. Thank you.

A beautiful bolthole in the Dales

Just returned from a short two night break at beautiful Curlew Barn. Everything as described and pictured. Gillian's friendliness and service were just wonderful - she really wanted to make our stay the best it could be. We felt so relaxed and enjoyed the Riverside walk to Middleham, even in an autumn downpour. The cottage was just the place to relax for the two of us and our dog. Really clean, comfortable, secure and private. Loved every minute.

Curlew Barn is situated in a field a short drive out of Leyburn. I stayed during October and it was so warm inside I didn't need the heating on. This place is fantastic for a stay at any time of the year. It's ultra clean, quiet, comfortable and is surrounded by nice countryside. If anything I'd recommend the owners provide instructions for the TV remote, a decent size casserole pot and duck down cushions for the couch. But apart from that, there's very little to criticise. Heated towel rails work well, the shower is powerful and hot, the hot water is hot hot hot and there was plenty of wood, kindling and matches for the wood burner. It's a nice open plan layout with a cozy couch and a simple table for dining. Plenty of glasses, pans, cutlery ad crockery and a washing machine outside in the shed. There's everything you need for a comfortable stay just outside of the Dales. The stunning National Park is only minutes away and the Cover Bridge Inn is but a short walk. If you're there in summer then there's seating and a table outside and the garden is enclosed so if you have a wandering pooch then there's no need to concern yourself with his/her whereabouts. It's value for money and I'd certainly stay again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Perfect getaway

We booked Curlew Barn after reading other reviews and both the barn and locating were superb. Everything we could wish for and more had been thought of, to make this one of the most relaxing and enjoyable breaks we have had in a long time. The Barn is of an exceptional standard, superbly clean and wonderfully warm. We loved the fact that it was on it's own away from other properties but close to Leyburn where there are some great shops. The enclosed garden was lovely and would be a great place to sit out in finer weather. It would be impossible to fault this place. It's a true gem and we will be booking again.

If you are after complete peace and quiet, a secure and safe garden for your dog and a cosy, clean and comfy cottage - then Curlew Barn fits the bill perfectly. Totally detached, in its own field and designated path to a bench by the river, it’s a wonderful place to stay and rewind... Cottage has everything you will need. By far the best equipped of the many we have stayed in over the years and the towels, bedding etc are of high quality. Two minute drive to Middleton with its castle and pubs and five minute drive to Leyburn for your takeaways, Co-op etc. Lovely walks for the dog. Leyburn Shawl highly recommended. The Wireless internet wasn’t working but certainly didn’t spoil our stay. Gillian the owner was very friendly and helpful. We had the good fortune of the high temperatures in late August so didn’t need heating but we did think a hot tub located in corner of garden would be a wonderful addition to an already fab cottage!!!!!

We go to Curlew Barn twice a year so you can tell we love it here, lovely walks a short ride away or around the river a the bottom of the garden where you will meet sheep, cattle and as we did this year 3 adorable horses who would come to greet us when we entered the field. Always sad to leave this lovely place.
