「Our staying was not perfect but very reasonably good. Hotel is a "bit" outdated but location is good with perfect nature exposure. The room was huge with ocean view. The staff is excellent, patient, polite and very helpful. The dinner was slightly below expectation, and we opted to taste it only once.」

「This property has everything you need and the views are just breathtaking. There are so many little areas to hangout, the gardens are beautiful, the smell of the lavender and jasmine is wonderful! 「Joao a assuré notre arrivée en nous accompagnant en pleine nuit au gîte, de même il nous a offert un retour touristique en fin de séjour. La maison est isolée, couchers de soleil chaque soir, seuls face à l’océan. Le confort est sommaire, mais quel calme! Très bonne situation sur l’ile pour les randonnées. Il manque quelques aménagements de confort, mais si vous êtes sportifs et aimez la tranquillité, c’est TOP!」

「I have mixed feelings about our stay at Joao's place. We were a bit disappointed to find the state of the place; we emailed the landlord but he did not respond until Vrbo contacted him. Positive: - location: the view over the ocean is spectacular! - silence: it is a quiet area, only residential. aside from a couple of dogs once in a while, there is no outside noise - sleep quality: the (hard) mattresses worked a charm and we slept really well - good fun with the table tennis in the common...

「Miguel hat uns sehr nett persönlich empfangen. Das Haus ist sehr schön und modern eingerichtet. Sehr gepflegt, alles vorhanden, was man so braucht. Der Meerblick ist fantastisch und die Lage ist sehr gut um Ausflüge zu machen oder zu wandern. In wenigen Minuten ist man in Calheta am Meer, hier gibts alles Strand, Restaurants und einen guten Supermarkt. Leider gab es in unmittelbarer Nähe eine größere Baustelle, die man nicht sieht, aber hört. Trotzdem haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.」

「We stayed for 5 night, the property is in a lovely quiet area with street parking available, I would definitely recommend renting a car. The owner and his son were quick with communication and very helpful. The property is a lovely older building with plenty of character, clean and everything was in working order. There is wifi in the common area which works well and the view from the rooms is fantastic. 」

「Friendly and helpful lady (owner). Big house with all you need! Even the wifi is of the latest version. You can sit outside with a nice view. If it is colder or with rain you can sit under the roof. Kitchen fully equipped, perfect shower and cozy living room. Recommended!」

「Just skip this place, not worth it. Joao is not an unfriendly guy on the phone and he's flexible, but the place is damp and dirty. Not enough bedlinen and towels provided, took two days to deliver. Entry of property hard to find. WiFi only in one spot on the property (the shared activity room) for one device at a time. Frogs singing all night in a pond on the property, loudly (I liked it, but can be annoying). The jacuzzi is empty and dirty. Madeira is amazing though, absolutely go there. Nice...
