Good location, friendly staff

People are super friendly and nice here. The hotel is a bit outdated as most London hotels are. If you are a light sleeper, do ask for the quiet side room as possible. My room was facing the street so I get late night drunk shouting until 1-2am, 4am garbage truck collecting and 5-6am randomly starting traffic noise. I stayed here for a week and been up since 4am every day…… Breakfast was average, you could choose one main dish and enjoy the breakfast bar which contains some pastry and fruits. Same every day. Location wise, it’s within walking distance to London tower and tower bridge and close by Tower Hill tube station.

The bath tub got some stains in yellow, which was not removable by water or soap. The wifi was not workable although we had already notified hotel on day 1 (4 days and 3 nights). We came for our anniversary. When we arrived there was only one person on reception and a queue of people. Finally after someone complained another member of staff came who was lovely. We ordered breakfast for both days. Our room was ok but very noisy. If you are by bars and clubs in London you would expect better soundproofing. We were woken regularly through both nights with swearing and shouting- not exactly the romantic getaway we hoped for. We came for breakfast at 9am - there was nothing to say avoid busy times- it was packed and majority of the buffet was empty - no fruit, no cheese no hams, etc. the coffee was subpar. For £19 a person it was shocking. We cancelled our second breakfast but were basically told it was our fault for going at a busy time. We were given a voucher for free drinks as an apology but were then told the bar and restaurant were basically closed for an event so we would have to sit somewhere else. We went down before the bar closed for the events and were made to feel unwelcome - in fact the party guests who ordered after us got their drinks first and then it was clear we had been forgotten when the barman asked what we were waiting for. The only positive of the whole weekend was Robert who went above and beyond at dinner on Friday and then again checking in on us on Saturday. When we reported our disappointment at reception we were told they couldn’t really do anything about noise as they were located in a busy space in London

Great location, lovely warm welcome with mince pies and mulled wine. A much surprised upgrade and a drinks voucher each. Beautiful clean and large room with a big deep bath which was amazing after a day of walking round London. It was just the most perfect stay.
