Hotel location was very convenient. However, the room is quiet noisy, emergency vehicles, and drunken people on the street. Dated room facilities, freeze not cold, hard to turn on the tap.

Not a good experience

I came to London with my husband to do the London Marathon. We stayed for a total of 5 nights (through 3 separate bookings). The first 3 nights we booked for twin bed room and last 2 nights we paid for king bed room. Main good thing about the hotel is the location was very convenient for the marathon. I could walk back to hotel after the finish line and the hotel is right next to Charing Cross station which is where the train goes to Blackeath (start line). I have a few unpleasant experiences with the hotel itself: 1) service/ staff attitude - as I booked different room types, I ask them to switch me to king bed room on my 4th night. The staff said I have to stay in the twin room for 5 nights .. I refused, as I paid more to stay in the king bed room .. the staff who helped me checked in then said ok and asked us to pack our bags on 4th day so they can help us switch. On the 4th day we packed our bags as instructed and went to lobby, the staff said room will be ready around 3pm.. when we went back at 3pm, they said we are going back to the same room! We kept complaining and finally they gave us a king bed room… but why do I need to even fight for it?? I paid for it and I am entitled to the room I paid for! The rooms were very noisy… first 3 nights were full of loud drunken people on the street, 4-5 nights were garbage trucks, dumpsters noises fro 4am. On the day we checked out, the cleaning lady opened the door without knocking… Not Good

Would like to complain the front desk attendant

I have booked two Superior Rooms. The front desk attendant allocated us 1113 & 1116 room. But those rooms are terrible. It needs upstair 1 floor and then cross an bridge to another wing down stair 1 floor and then few steps need to go down. It is very hard for passengers to carry theirs luggage to do it. It can’t say that this wing is a hotel. The circumstance likes a low end apartment and the rooms are terrible. The next door of the room is a kitchen back door of a restaurant. The cleaners pull the garbages in there. It let us feel being discriminated. The front desk attendant she is not a good guy. If she is right, these such room are your hotel’s Superior Room, I can’t imagine how terrible of your standard room. This check-up experience make us whole family so disappointed.

The staff was amazing and wonderfully accommodating. We really appreciated the free umbrellas we were able to use during out stay since it rained the day we arrived. The hotel was decked in Christmas decorations that really helped set the mood for our holiday stay.

The room was beautiful. The mini bar was free and we were given a token each to use at the bar for a free drink. I had a whuskey and coke and my husband had a Guinness. We worked out that he menu price for both would have been £32. The hotel itself was gorgeous and the staff were friendly and helpful

Clean room although the shower had some mold on the bottom tiles. Breakfast service was excellent & fair plus variety & fair quality. Convenient to many activities, restaurants & shopping. Not too noisy. One lift was down our entire stay but we only had a longer wait 2-3x & we were there 5 nights.
