Highly recommend Valet parking right in front of hotel. Charming old historical railway station converted to hotel in pleasant garden setting a few blocks from the beach. Don’t expect updated furnishings. Lobby could use a bartender in evenings and optional earplugs for nonstop hotel stereo music from early am to late in evening.

Amazing

Amazing, incredible amenities and comfortable bed. The hotel has so much character and we really enjoyed ourselves! Could've liked to have complementary water in the room, and not $13 dollar per bottle, but that was the only downside!

Good location but hidden fees

My parents stayed here after losing their house in the Palisades fire because it was recommended by friends. The place is a bit dated and had a $500 hidden resort fee not mentioned until checkout. But the location and cookies were great.

I was having surgery early in the morning so we came to Santa Monica. I had never heard of Palihouse but knew the location and it turned out to be a hidden gem! An historic apartment building turned hotel with generous sized rooms close to the beach, restaurants and St John’s Hospital.

GREAT option in Santa Monica

Best hotel experience in years. The entire staff, front desk, barrista, cleaning crew were kind and friendly. I was upgraded unexpectedly to a King suite for the stay. The room was clean and quiet which are most important to me. No issues with bringing my border collie for the stay, super dog friendly place and easy to walk him around the quiet/beautiful streets in the AM. Personally loved the location, just 1-2 blocks from 3rd street promenade and a couple blocks to the beach. Will definitely be staying here again.

Why would you stay anywhere else in Santa Monica? This is a slice of the Golden Age of Hollywood with all the trappings of the current - the staff are are as interesting and beautiful as the hotel - this is 5stars plus.

This is an amazing hotel walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The feel of the hotel makes you feel you're in a different country. The staff is incredible and the service at the lobby is first class.

Great boutique hotel near the beach and downtown. Loved the stroll to Montana Avenue and the restaurants and shopping there! Great to get a free bike from the hotel and ride along the beach to Venice.
