“Great stay with my daughter. Couldn’t fault it at all. It’s a lovely place in such beautiful surroundings, nice bit of an old fashioned feel to it. Staff were brilliant, and all the food was delicious ”

“A wonderful stay with a beautiful room (well rooms as it had a seperate living and dining room) over the top of a Proper Pub, (wooden beams, walls covered in old brewery and pub stuff) music in the background but not so loud as to drown out conversation. Great selection of ales. Really couldn't fault it. Nice breakfast basket in the room, milk and OJ in the fridge. We were overlooking the beer garden but the noise wasn't excessive. Everyone we met from the bar staff to the lady who was cleaning……
“There will be free ticket for whitby abbey.
The building is nice and historical. Many facilities for guests to use. I like the drinking water the most.
A bit difficult to find the entrance and the 199 steps to hostel is without light at night. It is a bit dangerous if you back to hostel late at night as you can't see the steps.
The breakfast is very tasty and many different choices to choose.”
“I was traveling to the area alone and had chosen to stay here. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who I later discovered was the owner. The room was very clean a pretty with everything you needed. That evening I had a drink in the bar and the owners were so friendly and welcoming offering any assistance I may need. The breakfast was delicious and while I didn’t eat a meal there the menu looked great and very varied. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area. ”
