"Stunning hotel, stunning location, we loved our stay and can’t wait to go back! Only very small issues be nice to allow pool use after checkout for kids on weekends as my son was really upset as they said we couldn’t . Breakfast buffet lovely - cooked breakfast random - husband asked how he’d like his eggs with his full english and asked for scrambled eggs. He then asked if he could get his bacon crispy and she said of course….he then only got scrambled eggs and bacon 😂. I asked for French toast without anything on it and got French toast with everything on it. Communication issues lol. Quite funny really."

"The view from our superior junior suite was breathtaking. The room was spacious with two comfortable armchairs, so we could sit in them and admire the bay, the piers and Whitby cathedral. The breakfast was also excellent. I highly recommend the Royal Whitby Hotel."

"Lovely relaxing stay at this beautifully maintained, clean and comfortable cottage. Pauline and her husband are friendly and welcoming hosts which made us feel right at home. The cottage is in a peaceful rural location yet there are plenty of amenities within a short distance and there is a park and ride very close by to take you into Whitby. Our family enjoyed sunny evenings in the lovely garden with shade from the trees and the children were kept amused by the friendly animals. We will definitely return."

"The cottage was just as described, if not better. Good layout with a well equipped kitchen. The TV is huge and great for a movie night after a day of exploring the local area. The location on the Saltmoore estate is perfect, very peaceful. We visited the beach house, this was a good halfway point when walking through the estate to stop for a drink on the way to the cottage. We ate at the hotel one evening. It is a short walk into Sandsend, I’d recommend the cafe on the seafront for breakfast/lunch. There is a bus stop right outside the estate with a bus every half hour to and from Whitby that takes less than 10 minutes. You can leave your car in the car park when you arrive and not need it for the duration of your stay if you want to."

"Lovely location, quiet & secluded but only a short walk to the beach & restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious but some attention to detail needed. The bathroom sink had clearly been damaged and the repair was unsightly. The curtains did not meet in the middle and let in light. The 2 members of staff we met were friendly & helpful."

"Great cottage for a long weekend in Whitby. Everything we needed was there; well, aside some salt and pepper and a working oven (the owner is now aware!) but the grill and microwave were all we needed, luckily. View of the Notth Sea is great, and you don’t feel hemmed in, while pubs and shops are only a small drive/walk away."
