"Nicola and Gerry were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and offered good local knowledge. There was excellent variety available for breakfast and ingredients were fresh - the eggs were laid by hens kept at the property!"

"I cannot rate the staff at this hotel more. I've travelled for work for years and I've never had better service at a hotel. The team at the Dumfries Arms were exceptional. I can't fault them. My husband and I had a fantastic two night stay, the food at the restaurant was delicious and catered well for my gluten intolerance. "

"Bedrooms are tired. Second stay in a row where the tap in the bathroom sink is not working. New restaurant is lovely but breakfast items ran out quickly and did not get replenished for 20 minutes.
Lots of queuing and disgruntled guests.
Requested crispy bacon and it was not and only looked cooked on one side. Dinner took one hour to have mains served.
Housekeeping were very good as my son was ill and cannot fault them. Thankful for their swift response.
Lovely areas of renovation but is still in a transitional period of finding their flow of service. And for the rising prices… bedrooms need better taken care of and should be next for renovating.
As a guest of Seamill Hydro on many occasions. And I was married there, so I do love it. Just needing tweaks to get the service back to a standard and rooms need TLC to justify the pricing. "
"Long overdue feedback...I travel to Glasgow on business every so often, and most of the time I book my stays at Parklands.
For at least 8 years i have stayed here for the following reasons:
Excellent rooms with huge bathrooms (executive rooms are even bigger)
Quiet hotel.
Great staff
Top class food served.
State of the art gym and spa facilities.
Need I say more!
Would 100% recommend this fantastic hotel 👌"
"We stayed as a family of three so we needed the pull out bed. It wasn’t made up when we arrived but it was quickly remedied. However, the mattress on the sofa bed was so thin you couldn’t sleep on it. Parking is plentiful but the car park area is dirty and in need of attention. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful but one in particular was very loud and over familiar. "
"Late Saturday afternoon, after checking in, we walked our dog in the lovely grounds and decided to stop for a drink before returning to our room. The outside patio tables and the inside bar were piled with dirty glasses and plates. No staff around to clear anything away. One barman coping with customers. We sat outside with our drinks for over half an hour (other guests were also there) and although the barman brought out drinks to another table, nothing got cleared away.
Our room was disabled friendly, but accessed by steps and several fire doors (we did not request or need a disabled room, this is just an observation).
Although the bedroom doors are fitted with soft closers, they still need a firm pull to fully shut, and the noise from the doors slamming closed was dusturbing during the early hours of the night."
"Shower in room suddenly ran cold in middle of shower, then ran warm then cold again. Something very wrong!
Given room it was an expensive hotel. It was however a great breakfast! "
