Nice apartment, terrible hosts. The listing mentioned construction in the common area. We checked with the host - a company called Every Place (EP) and were told it was finished. True. Imagine our surprise when 1st thing Monday morning the deafening jackhammer started in the apartment above us. It was so loud, we had to leave the unit.EP told us they would look into it. Nothing for 3 days though we contacted them every day on VRBO asking to move to one of their other properties. On the 4th night, we returned to the unit to find water leaking into the kitchen from above. The construction guys upstairs had hit a pipe. The security guy in the lobby could not reach EP. We spent the night emptying the bucket and pots we put out to catch the water. After an early morning plea, EP sent maintenance guys. They had the construction guys upstairs turn off the water but we had no kitchen lights for the rest of the 2 week stay. We decide to extend our visit 2 days to catch the flower festival in the city. We rented a different EP apartment in the building (only one open), asking to move just our suitcases in early. You would think after all the trouble, EP would accommodate us, but no. We were told it wasn't allowed even though some EP folks in the building told us the unit was unoccupied. This is an ok apartment in a good location, but if you need any help from the host, communication is non-existent. And no way to reach them off hours for an emergency. Buyer beware.

The apartment is pretty much as represented, it's a little tough, needs some TLC. The area is great, within walking distance of so many things. As mentioned in the description it borders right on the area where there is a lot of night life, but we did find that it made it so we couldn't sleep. Host wise I would rate the service there very low. I'm okay with being left to my holiday but we were not given sufficient check in information. We weren't informed that we would need to check in with the building security, plus the building security (who were awesome) did not know we were arriving. Once we arrived we had to ask for the WiFi password. That said we didn't need anything through the week so I cannot comment on that communitcation.It would be nice as well if there was some information about the area in the apartment for when you arrive. Such as closest supermarket, information on some local attractions. The building is not far from a Tourist Information Centre, that would be nice to know.Amenities wise there were a few things. All that is there for a toaster is a camping toaster so we could only do one slice at a time. It was nice to have shampoo, conditioner and bodywash with the shower but the towels were a bit threadbare.
