"This is an amazing little hidden gem! We will absolutely be back on our next trip to Fujikawaguchiko. Yes, the hotel is showing its age a little, and I mean only a little, but you’re there for a classic ryokan so it’s part of the experience. The staff are amazing and the hotel has fantastic amenities. They provide a shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station, public and private onsen baths, and an amazing view of Fuji-san from the rooftop deck. On top of that, the kaseki dinner and breakfast are spectacular. The food is excellent, plus we were served in our own private room within the restaurant, with a lovely view of the lake. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! I’ve honestly never left a hotel review before and probably never will again, but this place is worth it. Hoping this draws attention to this hidden gem, to keep it running until we’re able to come back. Too many places like this are bought up by big hotel chains and lose their charm. Arigato gozaimasu, Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato!!!"

"The room was a good size and the bathroom very clean & well decorated. The staff were lovely, very attentive and the complimentary shuttle to the train station is a great service. I really enjoyed the traditional Onsen experience and dinner in the Kokorogi restaurant was delicious - nicely presented & great service. We were treated to a beautiful view of Mount Fuji at Breakfast! "

"Don’t stay here! They should be taken off Hotels.com! So dirty and gross, and over priced. Bugs everywhere… beds uncomfortable, pillow flat. I say pillow cuz that is all there was. Lamp shades literally stained dirty. Couch dirty. The worst hotel! Run the other direction! Do not rent a room here! "

"I booked mountain view and the room did not disappoint! It was beautiful. However, I am giving 4 stars reviews as the staff weren't enthusiastic to help and the coffee machine is only available from 3pm. It would be helpful to get coffee in the morning. "

"The staff was very unhelpful in difficulties we had around our booking, caused by major transportation disruptions beyond our control in Japan, and rude to my wife when she tried over 5 times to contact and remediate the situation. I would never recommend this as a '5 star, glamp' hotel. Service levels are 1 star. "
