Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Westwinds, we come every year. It’s our favorite location in San Destin. Our dryer didn’t work, so maintenance had to come to the room three times, but was unable to fix. We finally decided to wait until we left to send them back so we weren’t disturbed again. I found a laundromat to dry our clothes. Staff is always great & very friendly. The pool area desperately needs more umbrellas. There’s only 6-8 and people are always looking for an open umbrella to sit by.

Kitchen has all the basic cookware but no spices etc. The grill is at the pool. Very easy access to the beach and pool. My only complaint is that there is zero information on what is available at SanDestin, what renters have access to, or any contact information. There is no office or contact at the building so you are on your own. We played tennis, rented bikes, went on a dinner cruise, went to music on the lawn, etc. If I had not been to SanDestin before I would have no idea it was available.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great location for our party of 6 adults. Easy to walk straight out to the private beach and quick driving distance to grocery stores, outlet malls, and restaurants. From the 8th-floor balcony, we were able to easily watch the Miramar beach-site fireworks display put on by the hotel a few buildings to the East of us. Many guests also went down to the beach where chairs were set up to watch. The unit was really clean and well-organized. There were a few boogie boards in the laundry closet, also 2 beach chairs, some sand pails & shovel. One thing worth mentioning is that there are no beach towels here, but they were very inexpensive at the local Walmart, so it was no issue. There were also no left-behind cooking supplies from past guests like salt/pepper, cooking spray, coffee filters, etc., as was the case at other rentals. You will need to supply all of that if needed. The property management was very courteous and responsive. We would consider this unit for a return trip.

We were there mainly for the beach and heated pool and we cooked most meals.The location is exactly as described which is a short walk to the beach with ramp entrance. We brought a wagon to carry the provided beach chairs, toys, and umbrellas. The 8th floor views of the beach, daily sunsets, and dolphin spotting were so enjoyable. We packed a lunch and stayed all day at the shore. The condo was nicely decorated, had plenty of bath towels, and a starter kit for each sink area. We brought extra house supplies (especailly trash bags) knowing it was not a stocked condo. We loved our trip and stayed for an extra day.The Westwinds had crew updating the property which was nice to see and not obstructive in anyway. The pool is heated to a comfortable temperature. It was nice to dip in the warm pool after being in the cold ocean.Improvements:1. Oven mitts are defintely needed.Tips:1. Bring your own beach towels2. You can place your beach chairs in front of the rental chairs or in the large gaps between rental chairs. It wasn't crowded, plenty of empty rental chairs and we didn't block the view for anyone.3.The Southern Star Dolphin Cruise was a fun and large boat. Covered 2nd level and glass bottom. It was at half capacity (75 people) and easy to walk around the boat to see the dolphins.4. There is free parking at Baytowne Wharf. Follow the signs that say "Additional Parking". Just expect a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. 5. We ordered curbside groceries in Pensacola while on our way to Westwinds. You can get groceries in Sandestin but alot of this will be out of stock or bad substitutions.6. I bought seafood at the Sea Market in Destin. Nice and helpful place.7. The walls are thin. You can hear loud voices across the hall and chairs being dragged on the floor above you. Be con

The sleeping arrangements could have been more to our liking but the sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable to sleep on and the bunk beds where not very safe feeling with 2 grown adults on the top bunk. We would have been more comfortable if the bunk beds would have been separated and have two full size beds in one room. We will definitely not make that mistake again.

Great condo on Miramar Beach

The condo was lovely and just right for our group of seven. We enjoyed the patio overlooking the gulf. The air conditioning worked great and the furnishings have been nicely updated. Lots of storage so we could fully unpack.
