“What a magical experience. This farm was everything we didn’t know we needed. Sitting out on the back porch watching the animals do their thing with the smell of fresh mint wafting in the air was so calming. Jessica was so quick to answer my texts, going above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed. The house was clean and updated. My only suggestion would be to clean up the swallow poop outside the front door and wash the inside of the living room windows. That being said I do……

“Beautiful Area! Well kept and maintained!”

“Being a solo traveler, I felt very safe and comfortable in the space. I wish I could have stayed longer”

“The town is cute, the area is cute. The property needs to be further along. The water in the kitchen has a bit of rust, but the adjacent bathroom the water was better, which we used. The beds were comfortable, the shower ok. No way to control the heat… needs window upgrades, holes in floors patched. The Vrbo app horribly difficult and frustrating, that definitely needs addressing.”

“This roomy unit is located in a quiet neighborhood, near downtown and close to the two best parks in Salem. It takes up the entire second floor of a separate building from the main house. The weak link is the eating space, which is quite small but adequate for up to 2 people. The spacious deck above the alley looks out over back yards and a parking lot, but it feels very private. Overall, the unit is very comfortable and is quite a good value.”

“Nice home, fully equipped kitchen and close to town center. Good jumping off spot for wine country tours”

“Place was super clean and perfect for a group of 4, beds were comfortable and place has everything you need for a multi day/week stay, the host was very comunicative, we would definitely stay again, only thing we noticed was weird smell every time we returned to home that was remedied by opening all windows when we were there. Thanks again for the wonderful stay in Salem! The STARKEL's 2026”

“This adorable basement apartment was just as the pictures are listed. There were no surprises.Abigail the host is the sweetest and amazing. We hated to leave and wish we could have stayed the rest of the week. There are chickens on the ground that I enjoyed seeing and talking to.You will be happy you chose this property for your stay. Will stay there if ever in the area again.”

“We have stayed here multiple times and keep coming back!”

“Was more in the country then what we expected. We pretty much slept and showered there. Didn't spend much time at the property it self. Would be great for a large group get away just staying there the entire time hanging out. We did have a slight emergency the morning leaving. Contacted the host and got a response right away and were understanding.”

“House has not been updated since the early 80s, needs new beds badly…there are literally cots in one of the bedrooms. The heating situation was strange (wall electric heat) with no heat in two of the bedrooms aside from some plug in heaters that cannot run at the same time because they blow a fuse. Kitchen has very little as far as cooking pots or utensils, there is no can opener! This house has potential, but some money needs to be put into fixing it up if it’s going to be rented. I was……

“Beautiful, modern townhouse. It was an oasis for us. The host, Paula, was very helpful.”

“Hawk's Nest is an absolute gem, we still can't believe our luck in finding it! Tracey and Aaron are so welcoming, as are Gia and Monty (the pups). The space is clean, bright and well laid out. The views at every turn are absolutely stunning. And you are on a winery with delicious wines, so you are winning in every way if you stay there. It was so great to be able to check out all the nearby wineries and then end the day with a yummy last glass right at home. The location is great for checking……

“Quiet, clean, and convenient location, within just a few minutes drive of the OSU campus. The garage parking was really nice, especially since it was raining. Would definitely stay here again. :)”

“The property itself was very cute and offered a peaceful, quiet setting tucked away from the busy highway. We appreciated the secluded atmosphere and enjoyed how relaxing the location was. That said, our stay was significantly impacted by a spider infestation. As someone from Montana, I understand that insects and spiders are a normal part of life, especially in more rural areas. However, the number of spiders throughout the house was excessive. We didn't have to search for them—they were……

“Looked just like the photos. Was a great spot for the stay in Salem and would definitely stay again. ”

“Deidre was extremely communicative before, during, and after our stay!”

“Cute clean space on bottom floor ("Walkout basement") of two story house. No sink in kitchen but coffeemaker and fridge we used a lot. Easy access. We had 4 people - I wouldn't recommend any more than that.”
