「This hotel is centuries old and is in a beautiful Tuscan setting in a VERY small town. There are no restaurants or shops in this town. The hotel, while serving an excellent European breakfast, does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner. If you don't have a car, you're stuck. The first night, we had to hire a cab to take us into Montefollonico. We went to a lovely restaurant (Gobbi 13) and we had a delicious meal, but the cab ride cost us 125 EU. The hotel staff was very sympathetic. ...

The suite itself was classy and full of character. We had a brilliant private spa experience which was super relaxing after a long driver during the day. 「We had 3 rooms. None had Air Conditioning working. They assured us that by night, A/c would be working. Didn’t happen. We Were sent to a different hotel at 10:00 pm. The replacement hotel was 30 minutes and three towns away from Montepulsiano through mountain winding roads. It just killed our three days visit to Montepulciano having to drive back and forth everytime we needed to go to hotel and back for reserved meals and activities.」

The hotel offers dinner, but if you’re willing to drive for 10 mins there is some delicious, great value dining options in town. 」

「This resort is a gem! We stumbled across it when we needed an overnight stay prior to a next day train ride. If we would have known, we would have spent at least 3 days. The owner and staff are a delight, the atmosphere and grounds and pool area are gorgeous! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had an amazing dinner with a Tuscan sunset and great wine! Breakfast was wonderful. We will definitely be back.」
