「The Velvet Crab was just as pictured. What a haven. We wanted to do some different exploring on the Cape, since it's been a few years, but it was really hard to leave this sanctuary. We'd go out for a few hours and then couldn't wait to come back and just hang out. Loved the kayak, being on the pond, just everything. We'd love to come back. Tara and her people were very responsive, and we appreciated them letting us check in a few hours early. 」

「The room was very clean and large. It was perfect for two people. The unit we stayed in was about .25 miles from clubhouse. So since it was cold, we didn't use the indoor pool. Staff was friendly. They have a game room where you can play table tennis and air hockey among other games. For the money, it was well worth staying there.」

We had fun using the yard for outdoor games, used the grill to make dinner, and enjoyed making s'mores over the firepit. The house is an easy walk to the beach and the downtown shops are also within walking distance. We hope to return in 2026!」

"AVOID THIS HOTEL One of the towels provided had a brown stain that was extremely ugly (doubt it may be undesirable marks, with a bad smell). What's worse is that I discovered it after shower when I was using it. This was unacceptable, especially for an esteemed vacation house like this. When I reported the issue to the front desk during check out, I received no apology and was told that no compensation could be offered because the booking was made through a third party (on Expedia), and the front desk could do nothing about it. He said he would report to the manager, and I received no follow-up. I find this response both unprofessional and disappointing. I also wrote an email to the management team and received no response. The general experience was unpleasant. I hope I can receive proper settlement from the hotel management team."
