We killed a large cockroach in our room on the first night and a large spider in our son’s bed on the second. We had no idea (it wasn’t listed anywhere on the hotel’s page on Expedia) that the rooms are only cleaned EVERY 3RD DAY and then only if you request it. This was not communicated to us when we checked in either, and we only found out when we asked at the front desk after the 2nd day of returning from the parks to an unmade room. Not even the trash was taken out. It’s not surprising that they have roaches.
Also, 3 out of the 4 nights we went to the parks, when we got back to our room around midnight, exhausted, the room key did not work. Each time one of us had to walk all the way back to the lobby which was quite far away, to get it fixed.
I’m amazed that this place has an 8/10 rating here on Expedia (which was why we chose it). It barely merits a 5/10, mostly because it’s relatively close to both Disney and Universal. But with the exorbitant “resort fees” that get added on, it’s just not worth it. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place unless you’re really willing to slum it.
