This area, Tempozan, is located at the mouth of the Anji River. It was formed in 1831 and 1832 by large-scale dredging of the Anji River, with the dredged sediment piled up to create a hill. At 4.53 meters high, it is said to be the lowest mountain in Japan.
Tempozan is a scenic spot blessed with panoramic views of the mountains and the sea in all directions. Pine and cherry trees were planted there, and facilities such as the Kakechaya teahouse and the Miharashido observation deck were built, making it a bustling place of relaxation for the common people.
This inn was designed with the cherry blossoms of Tempozan as its theme, in the hope that the time spent here with family and friends will be truly wonderful. As a symbol of the inn, a cherry blossom bonsai—evoking the Tenpozan of that era—greets guests as they enter the lobby.
Cherry blossoms have long been cherished by the Japanese people and are a flower that symbolizes both Japan and the Japanese spirit. It is said that the fact they reach full bloom in spring only to scatter shortly thereafter aligns with the Japanese aesthetic sense of beauty and transience.
Please relax and unwind while immersing yourself in the history of Tempozan.
