Great space with views overlooking broad sands bay and the heritage railway Let down a little by the property and grounds needing some care and attention - needs sone maintenance and a deep clean The downstairs bedroom and sofa bed would work better as a family suite with a double bed and twin beds . Just all a bit tired and lacking in some facilities such as not enough outdoor furniture and broken outdoor table and chairs and not enough furniture for everyone to sit together for dinner or to watch a movie Overall a great spot for a family holiday just needs a bit of TLC

We had a wonderful stay at the Spinney- there was 10 of us (including 4 children) and we all had a great time. The house is beautiful and in a really good location. The only negative we felt was the check in time is quite late and check out fairly early!

Really wonderful stay at the Spinney! Would definitely recommend. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of space to accommodate us all. Stunning views, lovely hot tub, well equipped kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and spacious living and bedrooms. Ideal location close to Brixham, Totnes and Paignton. Ideal for a larger group trip to Devon!

Beautiful House, Lovely Views

We loved our stay at the Spinney, beautiful house, lovely rooms. Great addition of the hot tub, gym super, views absolutely amazing. Can see the steam train as it passes through, beach gorgeous and walkable, great little shop walkable up the road and a chippy. Everything so close, zoo, Goodrington, Brixham. Just be aware of the busy Dartmouth Road but other than that, perfect in every other way!!

Lovely location great views, comfortable. Had a lovely family weekend. The garden furniture needs upgrading, which is a shame as the balcony is lovely with spectacular views. There were a couple of maintenance issues which we reported to the manager. But overall we had a great stay and would recommend it.

We didn't want to leave

The location is stunning the house was fantastic plenty of room for 8 people. Fantastically stocked with kitchen and dining items, comfortable beds and lovely bathroom facilities. The owners and house manager were so helpful when we had a couple of minor problems . The hot tub is a welcome addition. A luxurious stay to celebrate my daughters 40th birthday. I liked it all it's a shame the garden is so steep but nothing can be done about that, not suitable for young children. Also it would have been helpful to have more information about kitchen equipment.

The views were beautiful, but it would be spectacular during the summer. The mattress on the sofa bed could have been a bit more comfortable. The TV in the room did not work.

Lovely place to stay! Great location - fantastic views!

Would recommend and stay again! Lots around to do/see - even in the home there are games and a great music system to use. Kitchen well stocked with plenty of plates/utensils etc - would only suggest to add a pair of scissors! Other than that had a great stay and would stay here if in the area with a large group again! Work had to be carried out during our stay which unfortunately only told about at 6pm the night before him coming at 8am and drilling!

Ideal family accommodation with stunning gardens

We stayed at the spinney for 3 nights during the Easter break - we were 2 families totalling 6 adults and 5 children. There was ample space for all of us. Every bedroom was a great size as were the bathrooms. The house was clean & tidy, all linens were plenty and again kept nice and clean and easy to locate. The outside space of the house was fantastic, stunning gardens and great decking area. The location of the house was great, close to lots of amenities and a very short drive to the beach, there are local shops within walking distance. Communication from the host was also fantastic, replied promptly and resolved any queries we had. Finding the house was easy as was access for check in. Overall we had a fantastic trip and highly recommend the spinney if you're looking to stay in the Torquay area.

Disappointing garden

Inside house was nice, but kitchen needs better stock - 2 wine glasses in a 10 berth house! Garden needed a lot of attention which was a real shame, it could have been stunning but grass not cut, dead flowers, brambles everywhere, broken mis match furniture and dangerous swing, fence and ballestrade.
