The Panacea Motel

2/10 Terrible

"My experience at this property was disappointing due to significant communication and organizational issues. There is no traditional front desk or on-site reception, and guests are required to call ahead to notify staff of their arrival and arrange check-in. While this may work for some travelers, it was not clearly communicated and created unnecessary confusion. The most concerning issue occurred when the property incorrectly accused members of my group of conduct that did not take place. It appeared that staff may have confused our reservation with another party, resulting in an uncomfortable and frustrating situation. Despite our efforts to clarify the misunderstanding, the experience left us questioning the accuracy of their record-keeping and guest management procedures. Throughout our stay, communication was inconsistent, and the overall operation felt disorganized and chaotic. The lack of clear processes and the apparent mix-up involving our reservation created stress that could have been avoided with better management and attention to detail. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this property to travelers who value professionalism, organization, and clear communication. There appear to be operational issues that need to be addressed to ensure guests are treated fairly and reservations are managed accurately."

Relax & Refresh: Waterfront Cottage in Panacea

"This place certainly lives up to its name, relax and refresh is exactly what we did! Sunday brunch at Trident was such a treat; their views are equally therapeutic as the ones at this comfy ground level cinder block cottage. The host was extremely accommodating and easily accessible. We loved sitting on the back deck watching all the beautiful birds and mullet jumping in the bay. I even saw a white squirrel on one of my morning walks down to the beach. We will be back!"

"Visited the Tiki House for a second time in three years. Loved the space the first time around, and it's even better this year! Updated flooring, a giant motorized retractable screen on the back deck, and fresh paint were among the updates we enjoyed this year. Owner communication was thoughtful, proactive and non-interruptive. Just what we were looking for on a beach getaway with the family. Thanks again for a great stay!"
