Top Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta Hotel Reviews
XII century farmhouse on the hills above Lucca with chef. Only local food.

"Our host was simply wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about this experience. This was a delightful gathering of friends in Lucca. I definitely recommend having Monica cook a meal for you one night while you stay- you will not be disappointed. I also recommend buying some of Monica's cheeses to enjoy while you are there- they pair perfectly with local meats, and you cannot get fresher cheese than this. Hospitality and responsiveness was wonderful- and they have many great insights on things to experience in the area. This was truly a wonderful and special visit."

"We stayed at this villa for 7 weeks. It was a perfect base for exploring the region. The property is well set up for families/groups - 5 bedrooms, all with ensuites. The pool is large and was a swimmable temperature until the end of September (around 27 degrees Celsius in August, dipping to 21 degrees by early October). Lots of mosquitos in the area, but the villa has fly screens which is great. Our hosts were exceptional - friendly and attended to any issues promptly. We were very sad to leave! Highly recommended. "Isabella is a gift. Small misunderstanding on check in as to where the property was but handled well. Location was private and just what we wanted and expected "
"My niece and I had a wonderful time at Francesco's place! His parents, Lisa and Normano, made us feel like old friends and the grounds are beautiful, full of fruits and flowers! The drive up the mountain was a little tight at some points so it's not for the faint of heart but well worth it. The 2-story house is perfect for a family or friend group. There are spaces to have some alone time (inside and outside) as well as a large kitchen to cook and eat together. It's about an hour drive and 10 toll to Florence and a little less to Lucca. We drove each day and then came back in the afternoons to spend time in nature. There's an Esselunga supermarket at the bottom of the mountain where you can stock up before you head up. I'm looking forward to visiting again!"

Very private villa, pool, 12 km to Lucca, walk to restaurant, amazing views

"Amazing place. Beaufiful location on the hill above Lukka. Great contact with the owner. Very authentic place. House was very comfortable for 9 people. The only small minus was the fact that you have to use the car all the time and the road is bit difficult. But the view is a great reward. "
