“Great place to stay”

“Convenient for highway travelers, but not far from downtown Alexandria. The breakfast was excellent, with options well above the usual hotel breakfast buffet.”

“The room was spotless, smelled wonderful and was nice and cool on a hot day. We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room and I was able to move around the room easily. The bathroom was huge with an accessible shower. They offered what looked like a great breakfast but we needed to leave. We will absolutely stay again, highly recommend.”

“This hotel is very economically priced - was clean and the night staff was very nice - you get what you pay for. Breakfast needs improvements. The parking lot is in dire need of repaving. Took a long time for hot water and never really got hot. Overall needs an update. ”

“For having 4.5 stars the hotel felt old and dirty but the safe was very nice!! When you are traveling for work you want a nice clean place to lay your head at night without a strange smell in your room. Really beyond disappointed and almost thought about checking out and going somewhere else.”

“We have been coming to this property since our honeymoon 37 years ago. Very disappointed this year that the outdoor bar and grill is now 'garden' style where you have to go to the counter and order your own food and drinks. No more servers waiting on us. Even though we had to go up to put our orders in, the bar area was understaffed. The Loft was closed when we were there, the Chophouse was not open Sunday evening, the water park was closed. The rooms were clean. Of course, the location……

“The whole place was clean, the food was good, but the staff made it next level. Our housekeeper found us in the restaurant because we’d left something in our room and the bartender was inviting and warm. ”

“There was nothing wrong with this property. It was fine for the price. The staff was helpful. The room was clean. It overlooked the parking lot. But, I didn’t choose it for the ambiance- I needed a place to stay after a meeting. The breakfast was a bit underwhelming- I had a waffle. The only other hot item was a couple prepackaged omelets that didn’t look appealing- and some breakfast potatoes. Again- nothing wrong- just fine.”

“This place goes downhill every single year. We stay with a group for Christmas for the last 15 years. Wallpaper is peeling, you are charged for a “resort fee” but the pools aren’t even always working. Dining is subpar. Rooms are very dated and getting worse every year. I think it’s time for our family to move on from thumper pond. ”
