“Great location and well stocked quirky and old-school funky apartment! Loved it, and was a perfect base for the three of us for a week in Hilo! Not a fancy place, but had everything we needed and was well stocked and had nice touches like a lot of plugs around! Nice and helpful host, too! Would stay again on a return trip!”

“A wonderful guesthouse a few miles outside of town. It had everything we needed and the communication with the owners was great. The only small downside was the combo washer/dryer took 5 hours to do a very small load and we couldn't use it overnight because it was right next to the pullout bed.”

“We had a glitch with the lock but the owner was quick to respond to my phone call to give us the combo for the manual key, which I appreciated very much. The second bed was very small, the removable shower head line was leaking badly. The stove top and oven were dirty and the fan was also dirty. There was no complimentary coffee. ”

“Spacious accommodations and gracious host. We arrived earlier than anticipated and host allowed us to enter early. The place was tidy, and we were provided with welcome coffee and cookies. A/C was great in the bedrooms but none dedicated to Living/Dining area which was a bit warmer. It suited our needs nicely. Two drawbacks were things outside of host control - noisy birds/frogs/wildlife and the neighborhood was a bit sketch (but we did not feel unsafe). Highly recommend.”

“I am a local so what I needed was a place to stay while my house was being termite tented. It covered that just fine. It rained all the time I was there but I had lived in Akolea Plantation at one time so knew what to expect. I liked the remote area.”

“The property was exactly how it was described on the pictures. I loved the privacy from the back of the cottage. The house was clean and had all the necessary items for cooking. It was quiet and exactly what we were looking for. Very close to downtown and restaurants. The one downfall was the 20 stairs leading up to the cottage. I ended up injuring my knee at the beach on the last day of our trip and struggled getting up the stairs. But I had the honor to meet the owner of the property. She was……

“We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It's in a very quiet location but close enough to the waterfront and park that we could easily walk. The condo is nice and spacious and homey. The beds were super comfortable and the AC worked great. The building is older so it had that great 60s vibe that you hardly ever see anymore. Felt very much like home in Hawaii!”
