Gettysburg Pennsylvania Monument Hotels

"This is my hotel of choice in Gettysburg. The staff is amazing. Rooms are always clean & comfortable. Pool & hot tub are wonderful and open late. Free breakfast includes waffles along with standard continental breakfast items. Perkins, Dairy Queen, and Dunkin Donuts are just across the parking lot. Walmart is a 2 minute drive away. Very close to route 15 & easy drive into DC. Parking lot is well lit. I have stayed here often and don’t have anything bad to say. Be aware though: 2 floors, no elevator."

"The staff was wonderful all around from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast cottage. I think the only "issues" would be; The beds were a little hard for us adults but the kids seemed fine and the indoor pool was labeled 81 degrees on the sign but definitely was not. Felt very cold despite the room being so very warm. The breakfast offerings were perfect and delicious! Easy check in and check out. Thabk you! "

"The breakfast menu was fine but it was cold (eggs,suasage and potatoes). Even though it was sitting in a chaffing pans it was still cold. No one was at the desk when we went to check in, we had to go to the adjoining hotel to check in, which was a long walk and my husband uses a walker. There was only one elevator and our room was on the 2nd floor at the opposite side of the hotel so that was another long walk as well. This hotel might be good for conventions but for a couple passing through it was just inconvenient."

"Beautiful place, amazing collection of memorabilia. Restaurant was excellent with great service. I would definitely stay there again if in the area."

"Parking is excellent right outside of my room. This property was refreshed late last year. Room was comfy, bed, ac/heat unit good and quiet. Refrig was good but needed defrosting. Outdoor ice machine is marvelous! There was an old but functioning microwave in my room which was a special treat (not usually provided) and most welcome. There was some issue with sugar ants in the bathroom, management made aware and exterminator to be contacted. The location of this vintage property (adjacent to the National Cemetery where Pres. Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address) is why I choose to stay at the Colton over newer hotels. "
