“A nice area of Picton”

“I had an amazing stay here during my five-week Oceania trip. My first night was unexpected—I needed an ambulance to the local hospital after a fall on the ferry—but the staff at Bay Vista were incredibly attentive throughout the whole ordeal. They checked on me during the ambulance visit and followed up the next day to make sure I was doing okay (four sutures along my hairline). A special shout-out to Maddie, who was exceptionally caring and checked on me several times. The location is……

“Everything about this property makes you feel calm and relaxed. A perfect spot for a getaway. The views are amazing, it is warm & cosy & has a lovely indoor/outdoor flow. Then to top it off....a fabulous spa pool to unwind in. The communication from our host Brad was exceptional. We will certainly be recommending Firkin's Retreat to friends & family.”

“The staff were incredibly helpful. One of them, in Picton before we got on the ferry, told us how to see the bioluminescence, which was fantastic. The young man who took us around to feed the animals and the marine biologist who told us about the marine life on the viewing platform were incredibly knowledgable. The room was pretty and we had a good view if we sat outside. We also loved the hammocks and the glow worms.”

“After our longest walk on the 4 day Queen Charlotte Track, this resort was a delight to end with. The room was comfortable and the shower hot. They had a lovely bar area for a pre-dinner drink and dinner was delicious. We found the water conservation and rainwater use fascinating and applaud their efforts. We were a little concerned about the long downhill on the road to get to the lodge from the track knowing we had to go up the next day. Imagine the wonderful surprise when the front desk……

“We had a busy day so we called in to say that we'll arrive late and the hotel did wait up for us till 10pm, appreciated!! The room is very big and there are lots of TV channels to watch for. The people there were very helpful and SUPER nice. Definitely will go back again.”
