"The Hotel is set within the sprawling grounds which includes a wonderfully maintained golf course despite the current heatwave conditions. I was warmly greeted when checking in and got a lot of steps in getting to my room but was rewarded with a room with a view of the course and everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I used the onsite gym which had new equipment in great working condition which provided a good sweat and pump. I decided to dine elsewhere with Reading being only a few miles away. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a well-needed night's rest with breakfast options being varied allowing for a great start to the day. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was impeccable."

"The hotel and all other considerations a great, what does let the hotel down is the poor breakfast, having stayed a number of times I have consistently found this wanting. I come up for work from Devon once a month and aesthetic and atmosphere are everything to me whilst I am away from home on Business. A good start to my day is also a requirement and this prerequisite is a good edible breakfast. I'm not going to get into the detail, everyone knows what a good breakfast looks like, it doesn't take much imagination, I am no food critic, but they are missing a trick here. I did eat the pervious evening in the hotel restaurant and found this to be satisfactory, my steak and frites was very nice. Yes a disappointing start to my working day. "

"This is a lovely property for families. Great location as close to Legoland, Thorpe, Chessington, Windsor and many other places even London by train. We had 9 (5 adults and 4 children ages 10 through 7.5 yrs) of us staying for a long weekend Fri leave Monday. With the glorious weather we were able to be on adventures during the day and come back to refresh in the pool before supper and bed. There are plenty of fun things in the garden to entertain children PLUS gas barbecue, fire pit, pizza or bread oven. One of the huge bedrooms has a separate entrance which was fine as we had someone on their own otherwise if you needed all of the bedrooms to have direct access to your young children then this might be a problem. Lovely large open spaces in the house, plenty of TVs should you need, and of course all the usual automated kitchen and laundry appliances. Plenty of parking for 3-4 cars. Nice quiet area. Easy check out 11am, no need to strip the beds, just clear out all your things and the kitchen. Yes, we would stay again and recommend it. Thank you to the owners for providing such a lovely base for us!"

"5 minute walk from shops and restaurants. Reception was polite and friendly - showed us to our room straight away. Room was clean although dated which we were expecting given the price. Only a couple of issues with the room: Mattress was springy and likely worn as we kept rolling towards the middle. The extractor fan didn't switch off after we switched off the bathroom light. "
