"Awesome spot! We had a fantastic time. The house and location are great. Had a couple of hiccups that were addressed quickly. the one thing to be aware of is there are mosquitos and no-see-ems in the morning, evening and night. Need to use bug spray with deet except for the middle of the day. We adventured around during the day and were back for happy hour by the pool. Sunsets are great and a constant view of the ocean is awesome. We actually watched a tuna feeding frenzy with huge tuna jumping out of the water within view and close enough to not need binoculars. nice hike to the northwest beach and a 5 minute detour took us to the flamingo lagoon with 30 flamingos. Highly recommended."

"The villa was a great home base for our vacation. The view, the pool and the quiet area were exactly what we had hoped for. There is construction across the street but was not an issue for us as we were away during the day. Playa Cas Abao is around the corner and an easy beach option. I loved seeing and hearing many different birds each morning as we enjoyed our morning coffee.The interior is large but is lacking enough seating for comfort other than at the dining room table or by bringing in chairs from outside. There is room for about 3 people on the one couch.The only bathroom with electrical outlets is in the master bath so one of us had to use extension cords to reach the bathroom.Putting some work into small details such as an instruction/welcome book for the use of the house, tips for restaurants and beaches, a guest book for guests to share tips, and care of the landscaping (i.e. pull all the weeds) would go a long way to make this an exceptional place. If it is possible, having screens on windows would be another positive add. In order to enjoy the amazing breezes, all windows have to be open which allows in bugs and a brief visit by a bat.The hosts for this property were very responsive and great about questions during our stay."

"We really cannot say enough about our stay! Max, one of the homeowners was incredibly informative, communicative, responsive from the time we booked until the time we left. He gave us wonderful advice and even took the time to send pictures of maps with arrows on how to get to somewhere we were unsure of. The house itself is beautifully done. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The linens were quality linens that made it comfortable for sleeping. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need, which was great because we never wanted to leave to go out to dinner because the view from the back patio is second to none! The outdoor furniture was clean and comfortable. There are so many beautiful outdoor spaces and we really enjoyed all of them for different purposes. There is an upper sitting area which is beautiful for sunsets and we really enjoyed cooking on the green egg and sitting at the poolside table at night, eating dinner and playing cards while overlooking the ocean.The neighborhood itself was also very nice and people were very friendly. It was a special treat to be able to walk 15 minutes to your own salt pond to view flamingos! The neighborhood felt safe and I enjoyed running through it every morning.We will without a doubt, be back to stay here, just not soon enough!"

"Dirk and Inge were wonderful. We had a few small electrical problems when we arrived and Dirk stayed right on it until everything was fixed. The house is right on the water with a spectacular view and direct access for snorkeling. There is a named dive site (Playa Hundu) that is close enough to see from the terrace. We visited this to dive and snorkel and it is an excellent site. The snorkeling in front of the house is the best that we saw during our stay. "

"We had a wonderful stay! The property was beautiful and exactly as described. We were five women traveling together for a girls trip, and we felt very safe and secure the entire time, which meant a lot to us. Check in and check out was incredibly easy and seamless. The space was comfortable, clean and perfect for relaxing and spending time together. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others."

"We booked a long-term stay for December 2025 through January 2026 for our wedding, honeymoon, and winter break. On December 30, 2025, housekeeping entered our cottage and left the door open. Our dog escaped during this time. We were not notified for approximately two hours. The property owner did not contact us directly or provide an incident report. Our dog, Pax, has been missing since that date. As of writing this review, it has been 34 days. The property also had multiple maintenance issues during our stay, including power outages, septic odors, flooding in the shower, malfunctioning air conditioning, and excessive noise at night. The accommodations did not match the listing photos. Future guests should be aware of these issues, particularly those traveling with pets."

"Vista Mar is an incredible place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The house is set up on the cliff side with spectacular views on every side. There is snorkeling acess a short walk down a path leading to steps down to the water. Nice spot to get in without dealing with sand. Also a very nice reef area where we spotted all kinds of fish, eels, and one member even spotted an octopus. The pool was very nice and the kids played for hours every day in it. We love that you get to rent the whole house which really has 3 apartments, and dont have to share a common are with other vacationers! It was perfect for our large group with 2 large families.The house is Incredibly spacious and very comfortable. The key to keeping the main living are comfortable is to just leave the sliding doors open and let the tradewinds breeze through. The house is off the beaten path and is a fair drive from Williemstad. We prefer that as its away from all the crowds. The neighborhood is very small and quiet. You do drive right through the construction site for the new hotel to get there which feels a little odd the first time. The construction did not affect our stay at all though. We had some issues with our flights due to the military operations in Venezuela and Galo (owner) was Incredibly helpful and worked with us to save our trip. Netty was very friendly and welcoming and showed us everything we needed to know for our stay. Thanks!!!"

"I had rented this property for 7 days and only stayed one night! Didn't even want to stay that night. Had two bathrooms, but neither of them were fully functional. The shared bathroom , the shower would not drain, in the master the toilet did not work. The 2 smaller bedrooms had box springs with no mattress on them, just a very thin layer of some kind of padding. You could literally feel the metal just by putting your hand on the bed. The host said they were a regular mattress and no one has complained about them before. The beds had a fitted and flat sheet only on the beds. When we pulled the sheet off one of the beds there were pee and other stains on the box spring. There were big and little cockroachs all over in the kitchen. The stove top was covered with little ants. There were mice running around. The host said he was unaware that there were mice there, yet there were mice traps (someone was aware)! There was only air conditioning in the bedrooms. The host sent me a PDF 2 days before arriving that you could only use so much electricity per day. And only to use the air conditioning at night. The pool had a bunch of leaves and dead bugs in it. The host also contacted me through my personal email. I have never had that happen with a Vrbo before. When i talked to the host on the phone he pretty much dismissed the bugs and mice. He wouldn't do anything about the mattress. Only offered to have someone come fix the shower. Also wouldn't refund any money back to me."
