Chalet da Nogueira, a Home in Madeira

Chalet da Nogueira is a recently renovated small mountain house, recommended for hikers, mountain sports enthusiasts and those who want to get away from urban centres.

The house has an area of 40 m² on two floors. On the upper floor, there is a bedroom with a queen-size double bed (160 × 200 cm) and an open sleeping area, without a door, with two single beds (90 × 200 cm), which can accommodate up to four people. On the ground floor, there is a small living room, kitchen with a dining table and a bathroom.

Outside, there is a porch, a backyard with a barbecue, a free parking area, an area for washing bicycles and hiking boots and agricultural land with fruit trees.

The house is at an altitude of 780 m and winter nights can be cold, but the living room has air conditioning to heat it on colder days and cool it in summer, and there are extra blankets.

It also includes a refrigerator, a washing machine, a dryer, a ceramic hob, an oven, a microwave, a coffee machine and other utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, a heater, Wi-Fi (4G router), a TV with international channels and other amenities for a pleasant and relaxing stay.



📍 NEIGHBOURHOOD

The house is in a small remote village surrounded by forest.

There are no restaurants or services in the village. At 2.8 km there is the Bar-Restaurant O Pinhal. There are small grocery stores less than 4 km away and supermarkets 5 and 9 km away.

Access from the main road to the house is via 1.2 km of unpaved road, which requires a vehicle with higher ground clearance and the driving speed must be reduced. In periods of rain, a vehicle with 4x4 traction is recommended.

A few kilometres away, there are impressive cliffs, mountains and Laurisilva forest for nature lovers.

For hikers and mountain bikers, there are forest paths nearby, as well as recommended walking routes and mountain bike trails a few kilometres away, namely in Paul da Serra.

A car is recommended for this location.

The Internet is 4G and, as the speed is low, it is not suitable for work or video calls.

Rural area, with insects and lizards naturally present and possible noise from dogs and other domestic animals on neighbouring properties.

Weekly maintenance cleaning, including a change of bed linen and towels.

We strongly recommend that guests purchase travel insurance covering cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances that may prevent their stay.

Due to the island's location and climate, the presence of insects and small lizards is natural, and they may be attracted by food scraps. We kindly ask that you keep surfaces clean and food properly stored.

For those sensitive to mosquito bites, we recommend using repellent when getting around the island.

An online pre-check-in form will be sent to collect the identification details required by law.

In-person check-in is by prior appointment. We will wait up to 60 minutes after the scheduled time; beyond that, it may be necessary to arrange a new time.
