The stunning 17th-century countryside retreat has remained in the same family for over 360 years. Recently renovated, the home makes a perfect VIP retreat.

Besides the main house — with 5 bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining areas and staff quarters — there are two guest houses and a lovely private chapel, where you’ll find a beautiful altar crafted with traditional Portuguese carvings.

Surrounded by acres of well-tended gardens, the pool area offers an idyllic, sheltered area to spend leisurely days soaking up the tranquility, playing with the kids or dozing under a shady umbrella or centuries-old tree.

The two guest cottages are a stone's throw from the main house, each beautifully appointed with fresh, fun furnishings, spacious living/dining rooms cozy with a wood burning fireplace and TV, a small, but well-equipped kitchen with breakfast veranda and two full bathrooms.

With plenty of spaces to come together – including an area for BBQs and al fresco socializing – you may be tempted to spend your whole getaway within its beautiful confines. Enjoy leisurely walks through the vast estate full of fig, walnut and orange trees. Horse lovers will be happy to know that there is a riding centre nearby.

LIVING AREAS

The main house has a certain timeless elegance that brings luxury and comfort together, combining modern upholstery, contemporary fabrics and ultra-quality with carefully chosen antiques, modern artwork and standout accessories. The living room is cosy and charming with a wood-burning fireplace, super comfy sofas and elegant chairs where families and friends can come together of an evening. The dining room has a beautiful cabinet housing traditional Portuguese pottery and served by a small but fully-equipped guest kitchen.

In addition to the main residence, there are two independent cottages, each with a bedroom, two full bathrooms, a welcoming living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for extended family or guests seeking privacy.

Outdoors provides plenty of areas for socialising. Sunset aperitifs, leisurely al fresco dinners and barbecues can all be on the menu in this lovely home. The swimming pool enjoys privacy from the main house in a quiet part of the property and has a security gate.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS

Spacious and bright, each en-suite bedroom features traditional furnishings and modern, well-designed bathrooms with generous walk-in showers. A neutral palette enhances the natural beauty that surrounds creating a serene atmosphere that is both casual and relaxed.

Bedrooms are divided amongst three living spaces. Five bedrooms with individual A/C and TVs are in the main house. Two private guest houses each have a mezzanine bedroom area, a lounge-dining room and equipped kitchen.  The cabanas offer the possibility for preparing extra beds for young children or a teenager in the living room. If necessary, the rustic-luxe guest houses can be heated by a fireplace while the bathrooms have heated towel rails.

The villa’s large patio elegantly unites the main house and the annexes.
