Too short to fully enjoy

This villa not too far from rethymnon felt half way between a small town and a village, so we could enjoy the quietness of this narrow street and the convenience of the mini market and some nice tavernas. A 15 minutes drive from the sea and rethymnon. We enjoyed the swimming pool on the hot days, which were every day haha. The hosts are very friendly and serviceable, it was a pleasure to meet and exchange with them. The house is clean and has everything needed for the stay. We will come back for sure!

Very good villa

Villa is very good. Convenient location (in the middle of Crete, between Chania and Heraklion). Villa has everything for comfortable vacation. Owner is very nice and constantly in contact via WhatsApp.

Perfect holiday villa

Super friendly welcome from the home owners. Home made food on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Pool was cleaned daily and was perfect for the children to play in. Very comfortable base for travel all over the island. Right in the heart of the village of Prines but within 10 min drive of the bustling port of Rethymno. Fully equipped kitchen for the nights you want to stay home and cook. Loved our two stay. Thanks so much, Anastasia and Georgios for letting us stay in your wonderful home.

Typisch kretisches Dörfchen, gastfreundlich

Sehr aufmerksame und liebe Vermieter, Haus im kretischen Styl mit viel Komfort, sehr schön,wunderschöner und immer sauberer Pool mit glasklarem Wasser .2 tes Badezimmer sehr klein und leider keine Ablagefläche,mein Vorschlag wären Regale an die Wand. Sehr schöne , große überdachte Terrasse mit Kühlschrank und Herdplatte,sehr gut funktionierende Klimaanlage im Schlafzimmer

Trés bien

Nous avons passé 2 semaines dans cette maison, en Septembre, à 2 couples . Ce que nous avons beaucoup aimé, c'est la possibilité de vivre dehors avec des espaces ombragés et au soleil quelque soit le moment de la journée . Nous avons profité pleinement de la grande terrasse et de la piscine . la maison est confortable. L' accueil d 'Anastasia est très très chaleureux. Restaurant, chez Giannis sympa à proximité, cuisine familiale. Excellent séjour, très bonne adresse.

Une adresse à ne pas manquer

Des propriétaires très accueillants, une villa magnifique, une piscine très agréable, tout cela a fait que nous avons fait un séjour qu'on n'oubliera jamais. C'est simple, nous voulons y revenir et nous reviendrons. Merci encore Anastasia et Georges et à bientôt.

Lovely villa and a warm welcome

I had stayed at the villa some years ago and was impressed by the location, standard of the villa and the care given by the owners, George and Tasoula. The return trip has been a joy, such a relaxing environment. the pool and outdoor area are private and sunfilled, with ample shade when needed. The family made us very welcome with a meal and supplies despite our late arrival. The villa is located in a small village but is only a short drive from the coast and main road. The tavernas in the village are excellent so there is no need to travel far for great food and hospitality. George and Tasoula are ideal hosts, there when needed and with an eye for their guests comfort We had a lovely holiday and would certainly recommend this villa

Perfect for recharging the batteries.

A lovely, well equipped home. Peaceful and private garden. A welcome host with a lovely taste of Cretain cooking, a real treat having breakfast outside on the terrace every morning. Quaint , unspoilt village with friendly locals and lovely countryside. Take your walking boots!!!!

prachtig Grieks huis

Het huis was mooier dan de plaatjes doen vermoeden. De aankomst is al heel apart: het (rijtjes-)huis ligt aan een smal straatje in een klein dorpje, 50m van het dorpspleintje. Je leeft dus echt tussen de Griekse mensen. Dan kom je binnen in een hele grote ruimte met een zitgedeelte, een eetgedeelte en een keuken. Boven zijn 2 prachtige slaapkamers en de badkamer. Via de tuin kun je naar buiten en dan kom je in een oase van rust. Je vindt daar eerst een groot terras met keuken, waar wij steeds gegeten hebben; dan het zwembad, klein maar heerlijk en daarachter een tuin. Alles even ruim, mooi en verzorgd. De eigenaren lieten ons kennis maken met lokale gerechten en halverwege de week kwam een dame het hele huis schoonmaken. Echt een aanrader.

perfect

located in a charming and friendly village in the hills above Rethymnon the villa was excellent, with all the necessary amenities, and maid service twice during the 9 days of our stay. The owner was very kind, providing us information as needed and she cooked a wonderful meal with a bottle of ice cold white wine to greet us on our late night arrival. She then brought round a second even more tasty meal half way through our stay. The village location was lovely, quiet, with a beautiful garden with fruit trees, roses and many flowers, backing on to an olive grove, with plenty of sitting places and an enormous terrace with a 2nd kitchen. The village taverna at the of the road was very friendly and served excellent food under the trees in the village square. the village of Prines is an easy 15 minutes from the beaches and the town of Rethymnon.

Superbe!

Location très confortable et spacieuse. Propriétaires attentifs et discrets à la fois. Merci à Anastasia pour sa cuisine crétoise fort appréciée. La piscine a été très sollicitée car la chaleur en Crête est énorme! Peut-être serait-il utile de mettre un parasol à disposition des locataires qui veulent aller à la plage, car il est impossible de rester sur le sable à découvert! Merci à Anastasia et son mari pour leur accueil et leur disponibilité.

Location excellente et superbe accueil

Un grand merci à Anastasia et Ionnis pour leur accueil chaleureux. Un repas d'accueil nous attendait ainsi que des boissons et fruits et légumes ; une attention qui nous a touché. La maison est conforme à l'annonce et très propre. Les propriétaires sont à l'écoute de leurs hôtes. Le village est très agréable aussi et nous avons aussi été touchés par l'hospitalité et la générosité des habitants. Nous y reviendrons sans hésitations et nous recommandons cette merveilleuse maison de vacances. Un grand merci à vous deux pour ce merveilleux séjour.

Absolutely Brilliant !!

The house is a great place to base yourself for exploring the center of Crete , it lovely and cool inside with everything you could possibly need . Outside there is a lovely ( extremely clean ) swimming pool set in a quiet garden surrounded by fruit and olive trees . The owners are fantastic and will help with anything you need . Anastasia is a great cook and is quite likely to leave home cooked dishes for you ( if she has the time ) all delicious ! If that's not enough there is a very good Taverna 20 meters away in the village square , Highly recommended . We will be staying there again !

Dejligt hus!

Prines er en god by at bo i. Fint udgangpunkt for morgenløbeture ud i landskabet, og også godt udgangspunkt for køreture til seværdigheder. Vi nød blandt andet at tage sydpå til strandene der. Huset var velindrettet og dejligt med udsigt til sneklædte bjergtoppe fra den ene altan, og udsigt til havet fra terassen. En smuk have vi nød meget. Starten af april er måske lige tidligt nok på sæsonen. det var svært at få varme i huset, og vi havde også nogle dage med rigtig koldt, vådt og blæsende vejr. Alt i alt var det dog en fantastisk god ferie på Kreta.

AMAZING PLACE TO STAY AT!

House of Zambia was amazing! We enjoyed every minute of it. If you are looking to stay in a village away from the city (but still close enough, only about 10 minutes from Rethymno), then this is the right place! The house has everything you need and the pool and outdoor area is awesome!!Highly recommended! Tasoula and Giorgos (owners) are wonderful people and there if you have any questions.

Excellent, very clean and well maintained.

A great week with unbroken sunshine on all but one day, enabling us to spend a lot of time walking in the hills, often finishing on a beach. The owners were extremely helpful and provided a lovely meal on our arrival. The property had everything we needed and we would strongly recommend it to anyone, with the minor proviso that young children would need to be supervised in the pool (minimum depth 1 metre).

Fantastic Outdoor Spaces, Wonderful Small Town Setting

We are two travelling friends from California who thoroughly enjoyed the 5 nights we stayed at House Zambia. We loved the gardens, including eating the walnuts each morning that had fallen from the tree. The outdoor terrace was our favorite spot to have breakfast in the morning and happy hour in the evening. The location was really ideal - very easy to get into Rethimnon, which is such a great town - big enough for good restaurants and shopping, but not horrible traffic. The drive to the south coast beaches was easy from here, even taking the backroads, which was part of the fun. The town of Prines itself is quiet and non-touristy, just what we were looking for. All of the arrangements before the trip were very straightforward. Giannis is very responsive and everything went smoothly once we got there. WiFi works and was very convenient. But the best part of the entire stay was meeting the owners. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. And the cooking... what a treat. Thank you so much for taste of Creten home cooking.

Perfect base for exploring the Rethymnon region

The villa is located in a small village and is therefore very quiet and peaceful. However, the nightlife of Rethymnon is only 10 minutes away. From the villa you can reach in 30 minutes many beautiful beaches in the north, and in one hour the south coast with its spectacular nature. The villa itself is very nice and comfortable. The bedrooms at the first floor are not very large, but the living area is spacious and between living room, terrace, garden and swimming pool we were very comfortable even during the hottest days. The second kitchen with the barbecue on the terrace is a big plus and we had dinner there every night. The owners were exceptionally kind: they prepared an abundant dinner for the first day, filled the fridge with beverages and local food, and in general were very helpful and made us really feel at home. Overall it was a very good value for the price and I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Crete.
