"What a lovely place to spend the night! Quiet little cottage with a comfortable bed and good reading light. Really enjoyed watching the sunset and walking the steep stairs down to and up from the lake. The town of North East is nearby, although I stayed on my cabin porch and adjacent picnic table for dinner. I would definitely return."
"Was pleasantly surprised how clean and literally cool the building was. The halls all had air and the rooms, nothing felt stuffy. Beds were clean and actually comfy! Remotes could use changing I’m sure in more than the room I stayed lol but all was well otherwise "
"Room # 5 was a nice size for my family of 4. It was furnished with 2 full beds and comfortable couch that can be viewed online. The fridge was full sized, and the kitchenette was nicely equipped. We ate out most of the weekend, but it was nice to have a light breakfast with coffee, or a bedtime snack. Once we figured out the shower, the hot water & pressure was wonderful after a long day of driving.
I would consider Colonial Motel for another stay when we visit Erie in the future. "
Enjoy fall on the lake - colorful leaves, the grape harvest. Or, Winter snuggle.
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice home with great accomodations. Good directions and easy instructions to get in . I woukd have liked better lake access, but the deck and kitchen were outstanding. My reccomedation, bring a sleep mask if you want to sleep later than 5:30. "
"We had a lovely time at this lake house. We received the house very clean and tidy. I specifically loved that the decor was pretty much kid friendly, meaning there’s nothing that my 3 yo could really get into or was interested in! If you’re a mom of littles, you absolutely know what I mean! We also loved that anything that we may have needed was available, such as utensils, plates/bowls, and grill ware…. Even though we used paper products for convenience (because who wants to do dishes on vacation lol). But if you needed I’m sure the dishwasher would come in handy. All appliances looked well kept and newer (and clean!). Easy access to the private beach and the public beach. We made friends with a family of frogs that lived close to the back porch, and enjoyed seeing them hop around and eat mosquitos! The house is realistically 25-30 minutes from Erie/presque isle/waldameer and is a leisurely drive. All the bedrooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The only thing I’d have to say to other families with kids under 10 is that the twin beds in the first floor bedroom are kinda high off the ground. We anticipated that before our stay and brought our kids foam bumpers, although both of them ended up falling out of bed on separate nights anyways. The 3yo was unscathed but our five year old fell and hit her head off the side table and had a nasty bruise on the arm she landed on (she’s totally fine just a few tears). Otherwise a perfect stay! 10/5 stars"
