I didn't expect to find a very dirty room with dirty floors. Dirty beds and bugs everywhere and food splattered on the walls currently dealing with Expedia to see if I can get a refund for the room. I ended up booking a room elsewhere. Because it was not only dirty but the room didn't feel safe because the entry door doesn't close correctly and because one of the suites led to a balcony, and it looked like there was a homeless encampment that led straight into the creek where the balcony faced. Creepy.

Check in was easy and fast. The room was clean, but too much air freshener. The room had only two bath towels, one hand towel, and one wash cloth for two people. And only one coffee cup. Breakfast was supposed to be "grab and go", but was really non-existent.

Room layout was funky, couldn't get in front door as it kept jamming - needed desk clerk to help. Clerk said it was just purchased by another hotel chain, and had been fumigated for bugs (that didn't sit well with me). Nice that it was close to downtown and freeway.

The breakfast was very sad: broken coffee machine, and a couple packages of gross muffins. Coffee machine in the room to the rescue? …. Um not….one package of whatever decaf and zero sugar or creamer and not one stir stick to be found. Towels, perhaps? Nah….two crappy small and thin thing. Shampoo but no conditioner……comfy bed? Nope. Totally could hear the springs when you toss and turn. The price was cheap and it was clean….so if your expectations are low it’s cool.

Close to downtown SLO, very close to freeway entrance, some restaurants close by. Parking is decent. Property is dated. We stayed in a 3 bedroom family suite that was a converted 2 bedroom apartment. Couch had two big holes in it. Hairdryer in bathroom did not work. Beds were okay.

This was one of the worst places I've stayed. The first room we were given wasn't fully cleaned. The door was open when we went to it, no towels, clearly wasn't finished. The second room we were given had fresh bedding and towels, but was still bad. The bed was very uncomfortable. The floors were coming up so bad it would be impossible to clean them. Paint peeling on the walls. Etc. At 7:30 Sunday morning the office and breakfast area were still closed. Nobody around. If it wasn't graduation weekend with no rooms available in town, we would have left. For a $400+ room, I expected it to be at minimum clean. I wouldn't choose to stay here again if the rooms were free.
