Perfect Location. Comfortable and Clean

The only things I didn't like about this property had to do with the combination lock on the iron gate and the Parking situation. The Parking Police are less than honest and although the days I was there were paid for (4 days), I got 2 parking citations. The proof is on my bank statement. They don't tell you that if you pull out of your parking space to go somewhere for the day, someone else can take it even though you paid for an entire 12 hours. The Staff at Southern Belle were very kind, though and very helpful. The Combination lock on the iron gate (for the key to said gate) is a pain to deal with! From the looks of it, the combination lock is OVER 20 years old. They gave me the wrong combination at Check in. The location of the property is centrally located and everything you want to go to is less that 15 minutes away.

Crawford Carriage House, Savannah Ga

When we arrived, the place was very clean. There was no curtain on the front door so we had to hang a small blanket for privacy. Pool access was also advertised leading you to think its right there. It's Not, you have to drive 30 minutes one way to the end of Tybee Island to go to the pool. The sprinkler system timing program should be changed. Sprinklers were on each night at around 10:00pm. Soaking us when returning to the property one night. The steps were also soaked as well and a little slippery. We will probably use Southern Belle Vacations again, but not this particular property.

Pet Friendly Review

The staff at Southern Belle were responsive to our questions, before and during our stay. While the 2nd floor carriage house is pet friendly, it was very difficult to take them out during a rainy weekend in Savannah. The stairs are slippery, and the handrail is covered in greenery making it difficult to grasp for safety. The courtyard area has no grass for the pets. The interior accommodations were as expected for a party of 2 but really no way to sleep 4 people. Crawford Carriage House Bedrooms: 1 Baths: 1 Maximum Occupancy: 4 We reported a loose faucet upon checkout and the most terrible odor coming from under the house. We hope both of those are fixed for the next occupants. Lastly, all automated emails regarding our reservation indicated that no Southern Belle property is pet friendly even though we paid a pet fee. Recommend updating your communications. We will stay again, but not at this location.

Carriage house studio

Wonderful private studio apartment above the carriage house. (Seems like the ad stated sleeps 2-4, but really could only fit a 3rd on the couch, since it’s not a pull-out) On the edge of the historic district, so within walking distance of free bus transportation. (Make sure to download the ‘Parking Savannah’ app on your phone. Take a pic of the parking space number so you can remember it easier)
