Our stay at Bear Tootin’ was enjoyable. The cabin was very accommodating for us, as our party had 13 people and everyone had a place to sleep. Our first morning, we even saw a bear right outside. Would recommend for anyone.

FYI

Got the family together, it is a huge place and beautiful. The view is very nice. It has since been changed, but when I booked, it read there was a water park on site. No water park or pool on site, but there is the Jacuzzi. The drive up to the cabin is brutal. Climbing a mountain for sure, and my little 4 banger was huffing and puffing, but we got there. You are going to want 4 wheel drive and off the ground for the rough terrain.

Pet Friendly Clean and Convenient

We stayed here in November 2024 as an extended family, including one grandparent and three adult children with their families. The house was incredibly comfortable, spacious, and truly a fantastic value for the price. Arriving after dark was a bit of a challenge, as the road leading up is steep and includes sections of gravel and dirt. I’d recommend caution in snowy conditions, as it could be tricky if not impossible for regular cars. However, once we got the hang of it, navigating was smooth, and all our vehicles managed the drive just fine. The view was absolutely breathtaking—honestly, it seemed to get more stunning with each day we spent there! It’s a “wow” experience for sure. I can’t say enough about the incredible value for what we received. Our large family, pets included, made unforgettable memories here that we’ll treasure for a long time.

Beautiful Cabin, that needs a new driveway

We loved our stay. Cabin was beautiful and clean. The trek up the mountain is no joke, and the driveway was also hard to make it up. Why there are cute shops and a couple restaurants at the bottom of the mountain, Peigon Forge is about a 30 min drive and Gatlinburg an hour. Check in and check out super easy. Would recommend, but make sure you have a an all wheel drive vehicle.

Beautiful views

The views are to die for here but to get to the property is a little challenging. We found a lot of dead bugs while we were there in the bedrooms so maybe we were the first family in after opening it up from the winter. Some home issues came up but the owner was very responsive and helpful during those times.

Family getaway

We had trouble getting in the dead bolt was locked which wasnt a big deal however when I called to get help the lady who answered the phone was ok but she seemed like I was bothering her. She told me she would have someone call me and I had to call her back once the guy came he was wonderful. The cabin overall was great however the road to get up to the cabin was ridiculous. As much money as we paid to rent this cabin it should have been eaiser to get to. If we had not had a 4 wheel drive we would not have made it up there. You could at least give a warning when the cabin is rented. For that reason alone we would never stay here again.

They advertised and sold this as 5 bedrooms and it was only 4 so some of us had to sleep on sofas. The excuse was fire marshal deemed the game room bedroom non usable as a bedroom so they pulled the beds out of that area and never told us.The hot tub was not on upon our arrival so we lost the first night using tub.Saturday we woke up to no water, they let the tanks run dry so they were obviously not ready for our stay.I am still trying to get some of the refund I was promised and in all fairness this was such a disaster we should have been given the complete rental amount back. VRBO has done nothing to help. They charge protection fees for what? I sure wasnt protected from the worst vacation experience ever. Today I am being told they credited a card back that is invalid after already charging my new card on file for pet fees and crediting the first deposit back. No excuses for all the bad things that have went on renting this home and honestly the home was beautiful. It had a few minor things wrong but being the property is for sale I can only assume they are trying not to put too much money in it. The first thing we see when you walk up the steps are overgrown weeds and hoses left out right in the walking path. I just dont understand the lack of customer service on both Bear Tootin with family adventure lodge and with VRBO. I would like to get my money back and be done with this and I dont think I am asking for too much here.
