Wonderful Mountain Cabin

We had a GREAT time! The cabin was clean, welcoming and we felt at home while we were there. It is a great location to all the local sites (we were there for hiking.) I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who would like to visit the area. A plus - the neighbors were very nice also.

Higher Ground is perfect for anyone needing easy access into the cabin.

There is only one short step up onto the porch, which worked great for my elderly Dad. This was our 2nd time staying and we love everything about it. Spacious, quiet, all the amenities like home, and close to Cade's Cove. Will definitely stay again!

Extended weekend stay

Very nice and clean. Located near where we wanted to be. Excellent communication from property manager. As former owners of vacation rental properties, mountain and beach, we disagree with the requested additional tipping for cleaning. We have already paid for that service. If you have a great cleaning team, then the owners and or property managers should give out bonuses as appropriate.

Nice cabin for the price

Bailey and Cathy quick to respond to issues. Problem with Comcast. Bailey called and had the issue resolved with Comcast. Guest should bring extra paper towels and toilet paper. Also bring extra blankets if you want them. I didn't see any in the cabin. Also spices, condiments. Other cabins I have stayed in have salt, pepper and sugar. Very little in this cabin. Quiet area. Driveway is steep. I have a RAV4 4x4 Hybrid 4 cylinder. I was able to make it up the driveway. I had my doubts, but we made it! I would stay in this cabin again. Thank you Bailey and Cathy for allowing us to stay in your cabin.

Great Place to Stay

The cabin was great! We found it to be clean and comfortable. We did not spend alot of time at the cabin as we were in the area to help with a destination wedding. The downstairs bed was really comfortable, which was very important to us. (We have had some bad experiences with beds in some of the VRBO homes we have rented). This one did NOT disappoint. I can't say what the bed upstairs was like as we did not use that bedroom. The kitchen was fairly well stocked. If you plan to do most of your own cooking, you may want to bring a favorite pan or 2. For this trip it was not a huge issue as we did not do any cooking. We only heated breakfast food we brought already prepared. We did not find any of the hidden dollars, good luck to the next visitor...... nor did we see any of the friendly bears others wrote about in the guest book. I would definitely stay at this little piece of heaven in the mountains again.

Cute and cozy

The cabin was exactly as advertised! The front porch entrance was great. It was only a small step up onto the porch from the front door. This was especially great since my mother who is a little older had no issues coming and going. The cabin was clean and very inviting. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots and pans, plates and silverware needed for cooking. The dishwasher is a plus! The living room area is spacious enough and very comfy. The front porch was great to sit on early in the mornings. We enjoyed watching the many chipmunks and squirrels busy at work. The bedroom downstairs was very accommodating for my mother who didn’t want to climb stairs. She was able to have her own bedroom with a large king size bed. The downstairs also had a nice bathroom with a tub and shower combo. The upstairs bedroom was a nice size with a large king size bed. The upstairs bathroom had a VERY large jet tub and a nice walk in shower. The loft area had a nice entertainment area with an air hockey table and checkerboard table. There was also a washer and dryer in the downstairs bathroom nicely hidden. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say. It was very clean and that is always most important to me. It was very convenient to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be able to enjoy the peaceful mountain appeal. We most definitely want to come back and stay again.

Family vacay

Myself, my husband, my sister and brother-in-law really enjoyed our stay at Higher Ground. It was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We spent most of our time there outside and loved the porch swing. Would definitely stay here again.
