  • 4 The Bayhouse is positioned on the periphery of the south-east coast of the island, in the popular village of Shanklin. With access down to the sandy beach only a few meters away, this modern duplex apartment makes an ideal base for a family or small groups wanting to holiday together. The open plan living area on the first floor has sliding doors, with direct access on to a balcony. Having spent the day on the beach or exploring the island, why not sit in the evening sun and unwind with a glass of something cold, with the sea sparkling in the distance, or utilise the table and chairs for simple al fresco dining. Inside the well-equipped kitchen is adjacent to a six-seater dining table, allowing guests to watch the nominated chef in action! Whilst the remaining space accommodates an L shaped sofa, perfectly positioned to recline and switch on the wall mounted Smart TV.



    There are two ground floor bedrooms; both with ensuites and double beds, which are made up with white cotton bedding and dressed with vibrant cushions to give a pop of colour. There is ample room to comfortably unpack, for even the messiest of travellers! The angled, wooden terrace, accessed from both bedrooms, provides privacy for either a morning coffee or a sheltered spot to turn the pages of a favourite book.

    LOCATION:



    The seaside town of Shanklin is well served by public transport around the island with regular buses and the railway ‘Island Line’ to Ryde and Sandown. The main town is only a 15 minute walk and offers a multitude of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants to entertain all ages and tastes. During the summer months the seafront is bustling with people gathering at one of the many restaurants or choosing a favoured spot for swimming and sunbathing along the long, golden beach. There is a lot of fun to be had for all the family with a variety of traditional seaside amusements, including crazy golf, arcades and ice cream stalls. If you like exploring, then Shanklin Chine is a must; with its natural beauty surrounded by waterfalls, streams and rare plants. The entrance is situated within Shanklin Old Village amongst popular local restaurants, pubs and thatched cottages

    Living area: L-shaped sofa (can made up as single sofa bed), coffee table, 50" Smart TV, sliding patio doors leading to terrace with sea views

    Kitchen: electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle and toaster

    Upstairs utility/cloakroom: washer/dryer, toilet, wash basin & heated towel rail



    GROUND FLOOR

    Bedroom 1: double bed, fitted wardrobe, Smart TV and single door leading outside to a enclosed terrace

    En-suite 1: bath, toilet, wash basin, shaving point and heated towel rail

    Bedroom 2: double bed, hanging space, shelving, Smart TV and door leading to private enclosed terrace

    En-suite 2: raindrop shower and handheld shower attachment, toilet, wash basin, shaving point and heated towel rail



    OUTSIDE

    There is one allocated parking space in the development car park. Additional street parking can be found nearby.

    PLEASE NOTE: Guests can choose to either pay a non-refundable damage waiver of £35 or provide a pre-authorised security deposit of £150 before check-in. If the security deposit option is selected, no money will be taken unless damage is reported at the property within 7 days after departure



    This property offers a single sofa bed in the living room If you would like us to supply linen for its use during your stay, this can be provided at an additional cost of £35, per stay.

    Please do make us aware at the time of booking / in advance of your stay if you require this service, so we can arrange to take payment and have the linen made available.



    There is no electric car charger on site and guests are prohibited from using the mains electric in the property to charge a car,



    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:



    The Island Holiday Company, are responsible for the full management of this property and should you need to contact us during your stay we are available between 9-5 Monday to Friday, We also operate an out of hours emergency service on the weekends - please refer to your property brochure left inside the property, for further information and contact details.



    No stag or hen parties are permitted at any of our properties.



    There is a strict no smoking/vaping policy, inside all our properties.



    No pets are allowed at this property



    Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen as necessary.



    Please be advised there are external stairs and ramp to access the entrance, which is on the first floor level of the building.



    Please be respectful of the property and the neighbours during your stay; leaving the property as you found it on your arrival



    A breach of the above rules and guidelines could mean forfeiture of the Security Deposit.

A super well equipped apartment with stylish furnishing and a sea view balcony.

This was an apartment so we catered for ourselves but the kitchen facilities were excellent. Loved sitting out on the balcony and the beds were super comfy. Great en suite shower and bath.

We had a lovely time. Accommodation was in a great location and really well equipped. The Island Holiday Company were very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. Would definitely use again. As a family with young children it would have been helpful to have a highchair but we were aware that there wouldn’t be one when we booked this accommodation.

Great base for an IOW vacation

4 adults shared this lovely spacious and well appointed 2 bed apartment. Large lounge with balcony and furniture to enjoy. 1 bedroom had walk-in shower but nowhere to put shampoo, etc. 2nd bedroom had a bath only, with no shower attachment. Very difficult to use if you have problems. Had to pay extra for bath sheets! Would definitely go again but in a different apartment in the block.

Great location & very comfortable stay!

The modern design of the accommodation. Plenty of room, especially the kitchen, which was very well equipped, also the main bedroom and the bathrooms. Loved the balcony and the beautiful sea view. You could improve the cleanliness of the property we found a layer of dust in one of the bedside drawers and dust on the extractor fan n the shower room. There was also two dead insects plastered to the wall in the main bedroom. We also found the tv on the wall in the living area far too high and the sofa very uncomfortable. We tended to retire straight to bed to relax and watch tv. However, this is not a complaint, just some constructive feedback, where improvements could be made.
