Road trip stop over

Amazing staff,great breakfast...room so hot and could have done with air conditioning...it was one of the hottest days of the year though.

Property was beautiful, but rooms were not the best maintained, they were clean but there is definitely opportunities to fix small issues (heated towel rail not working etc). Much of the character has been removed from the house with just a couple of reception rooms feeling like you’re staying in an old manor house.

Comfortable room but bathroom rather dark. Room door didn't close wirh a bang. Breakfast selection great and very nice. Outside areas open and green.

Lovely place

Stayed for 1 night. Lovely and clean, comfy beds. All of the staff are really nice. We would 100% recommend this hotel. We didnt have breakfast, as we woke up late.

Visiting my Mum in style

Came to visit my mum, she lives only 10mins away. If the weather had been kinder we would have had a cream tea in the garden. We enjoyed fish and chips in the restaurant great value and professional friendly staff.

Wonderful room with a view of the gardens, felt very luxurious, thank you, however, the stay was slightly let down by having prepaid for breakfast, then having to select an early breakfast time the following day due to event taking place. Due to the times available, the breakfast was missed.

Don’t bother to upgrade online!

Extremely disappointed. I upgraded to a luxury room to enjoy a king size bed. I think because it was low season and the room wasn’t in use constantly the heating had been turned off so upon arrival the bedroom was extremely cold. Eventually staff managed to get the heaters on but definitely not warm enough to take a bath, (the luxury I had desired all day). To add to our stress the phone rang twice in the middle of the night at 3am. then again 4am., after which we pulled the plug out of the socket. The good things about our stay were good food, lovely fluffy towels, and pretty surroundings.

Decent enough

Arrived late, friendly and helpful on desk. Room a bit tired, knocks on furniture that kinda stuff. Well supplied - soap, shampoo, nice biscuits with tea n coffee. I wasn't there long enough to comment more. I thought £14.50 was a bit steep for breakfast, I haven't paid more than £12.50 tops in a mid range hotel, most have cottoned on to not pushing it price wise as people do I what I did, just go somewhere else on route _

we got Married at Aston hall and it was fantastic, we return on our anniversary on the milestone ones and it has gradually become less personal towards the guests, the hospitality part seems to have drifted away from the staff to the guests. even when we were leaving we didn't get a thank you for staying with us and have a safe journey. that is basic hospitality, not sure we will stay again as it has started to taint our happy memories from our wedding day.

This has been a beautiful old property but like many now it is in need of renovation. My room was nice and spacious, clean and the bathroom actually had a bath which is nice. It was a little tired and need of some TLC. The breakfast was hugely disappointing. No one available to show me to a table and after waiting a while I was told they were busy and to sit anywhere. Hot drinks and hot food are to order. I waited 10 minutes before a drink order was taken and another 10 for it to arrive and the food order taken. I will just add there were only 2 other tables with people on and the staff seemed to be serving what looked like a meeting room elsewhere instead of dealing with hotel residents. The buffet was very basic. No fruit other than a small basket with a mouldy orange and some grapes. No gluten free options which is something most hotels offer as standard. Probably wouldn't return.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, I was not impressed. On Saturday evening, there was a wedding party being held in a hall right next to my room. The noise was quite disruptive and made it hard to relax or sleep peacefully. To make matters worse, on Sunday morning at 8:30 AM,the gardener started mowing the lawn right outside. It was loud and totally inconsiderate, especially for a Sunday morning at a supposed 4* stars hotel. I expected a more peaceful and restful experience, but sadly, that wasn’t the case. The hotel may have potential, but the lack of attention to guest comfort during what should be quiet hours was very disappointing.
