"Spacious, clean and well appointed. Fabulous view over the harbour. A welcoming and helpful host added to our wonderful stay. Recommend without hesitation. Easy street parking. As the name suggests, a penthouse apartment requires some steps to climb. Great location with co-op supermarket near by and an easy 5 min walk into main street."

"We loved our brief stay at the Queen’s. My husband had been taken ill on arrival in Lerwick and we had to change our plans to let him rest up. We booked last minute and were surprised to be able to still choose a twin room with sea view. The sea literally lapped outside our window and the view was stunning. The hotel has a fascinating history and is built actually into the sea so those who complained of damp should have gone some where else. The shower was great with loads of instant hot water and the bathroom and linen were beautifully clean. The staff were really helpful. The night porter rummaged around and found me a bottle opener and there was cutlery in the room for our delicious fish and chips from the Fort café, given that the hotel’s restaurant is being refurbished. We would definitely recommend the Queen’s and wish the new owners success in their quest to restore it to its former glory. "

"The staff were excellent even through a period when the local wireless network went down. the staff took this in their stride, Gwen the owner was excellent, Cally was doing a great job similarly to chris and all the staff went out of their way to provide an excellent service"

"Niki and Piet have created a beautiful haven in their Mogill apartment. Nothing was too much trouble for them and with the added bonus of the sauna and hot tub, this turned into one of the best holidays we have experienced. We were able to relax and sit and watch the animals (including Tom and Jerry the goats) and birds and look out over the cliffs and sea.We were a little concerned when we booked that we were too far down South, but we needn't have worried. With great roads and connections the Voortrekker apartments are a lovely base to discover Shetland. Mogill apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything you need as well as being spotless. The robes, provided for the hot tub and sauna are a lovely touch. This was more than a holiday, this took us down a notch or two in the pace of our life at a time when we really needed it.Thankyou Niki and Piet x"
