Shimo-uchida Luxury Hotel

"I absolutely loved our stay here. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were absolutely fantastic, the food from the restaurant was incredible, and the area around the hotel was beautiful and exciting to explore. Unfortunately, I didn't have an opportunity to use the public bath facility, so I can't say anything about that. Just to note, only a few of the staff speak English so basic Japanese skills would be recommended. The station is a 20 minute walk from the hotel, so keep that in mind...

"Located at the hilltop, the ryokan gave us serenity and calmness. I particularly loved the big terrace on the 1/F where we could see the city lights. Staff, Manager in particular, were extremely helpful. Dinner and breakfast were nice. "

"The property was super old. There was nobody who could speak English at the property. The hotel was located fairly close by the Omuta train station, and there were good amount of restaurants to choose from. You'd have to go on the other side of the station to give them, though."

"This is a brand new hotel, so everything is new and works great. Each room is an independent trailer, which means I didn’t hear any noise besides cars outside. TV, fridge/freezer, microwave in each room. Wi-Fi worked pretty well. A bit bigger than expected, comfortable, the AC was on for me when I arrived. My only gripe is the towels, which are typically rough. There are a few choices for the (frozen) light meal, and I almost chose curry. But I went with the chicken pilaf and saved it until...
