We stayed in a private room with a bathroom. The room was run down with broken shades, doors that didn't close properly, and rundown furnishings. The common area was dated, but allowed for good socialization with other guests. That was the saving grace of the property. This is truly a hostel for backpackers and low budget renters.

The Avon is a wonderful, funky "experience" into a bygone era in a partially restored 125-year-old hotel which offers both private rooms and much lower priced comfortable bunkbed sleeping in 3 and 5 person dorm rooms.

Great for hikers on the CT or CDT. Room was nice. And bathroom clean and reasonably sized. The building is old with lost of character which means uneven floors and sound carries. Good location to walk to everything Silverton has to offer. No one at the hotel to check in so you have to call a number provided. Worked quickly ao no issues just not the norm.

My first visit to Silverton and I'm so glad I chose to stay at The Avon!
Loved the charm of this place, very fitting to the full experience of a mountain town at high elevation.
The whole establishment was kept very clean, bathrooms are clean and stuffed with clean towels and toiletries, the kitchen/bar/living room area is very roomy.
I stayed at one of the bunk rooms and I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the bed was, with clean and soft bedding.
Great job to Daniel, who runs this place, for preserving the mountains town charm.

This is a very unique hotel, a bit more like an air b&b. It is still being remodeled, so do not be fooled by the outside. It was a very comfortable stay, with amazing views of Silverton and the surrounding mountains. Will definitely stay here again.

This a clean no hassle hotel to stay in. In the center of Silveton. Great location, do not expect a TV in your room or any hotel staff to assist you. However maid service is on site. Really enjoyed the people staying at the hotel.

Overall fine. Nothing special for the $
The manager/check in staff didn’t show up. At 3:30pm he finally answered calls and told us where the key was to let ourselves in. The facilities were good for cooking and refrigeration. Place is old, but on trend with Silverton.
Room was OK, a TV would’ve been a good addition to this room setup. Bathroom light was so dim, had to use headlamp to light the room.
Window in one room was fixed/didn’t open, the other was hard to open. Good size beds, room was tight.
Clean, tidy.

Loved staying at your place!! It was a really fun experience!! The beds were comfortable, water pressure amazing for such an old place! Dan was always available by phone to answer any questions. You have accesss to the kitchen if you don’t want to eat out…You don’t want to miss the character and history of this hotel!

I loved the room we stayed in, there was historical information about the hotel posted in the shower. The views were fantastic. The decorations in the room were so cool to learn about and the bed was so LARGE AND COMFY!!!! One of my best nights of rest in a long time. Daniel was very kind and helpful!!

Room and hotel were clean. They provided toiletries. Check in and out was simple and communication during check in was great. We arrived close to midnight and check in stopped at midnight, but front desk texted instructions on how to get our key to the room. Property has shared bathrooms but they were not crowded as we arrived late and left early. Would recommend and would stay again.

One of the neatest and most unusual places I have ever stayed. Dorm bathrooms very nicely done. Beds comfortable. Oodles of casual open specs to hang alone or socialize. Loved that some guests had dogs. Walkable to everywhere in town. Highly recommend. Suggestion checks The Avon website for history and more details
