"We had the attic room and it's very spacious. The bedroom has a huge bed that is not too soft and we slept like the dead. Dual aspect with sky lights. Fan and extra soft cuddly blankets if needed. Hairdryer, ironing board, iron and microwave. However, the fridge was the reason I booked. A seating area where you can chill without a TV on and a small book shelf with a wide variety of books. We were very pleasantly surprised. Lindsay, the owner is a lovely fellow and you could just stop and talk...

"Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly & polite and we enjoyed a good breakfast. A huge bonus is the large, free car park. The only negative is that the rooms could do with updating. We have used this hotel for several years now and some areas are looking a little tired."

"Quaint doesn't describe this place. It looks like it had been a coaching inn in the 1600's then, apparently, it had various uses until it became a nightclub(?) in the 70's and then a hotel/country pub/ repository for a very eclectic mix of furniture styles!! The staff were really friendly and helpful and the grounds are lovely. Breakfast was typically 'full English' fare served in a gorgeous upstairs room above the bar. All in all a pleasant overnight stay and would certainly recommend to anyone taking the ferry from Plymouth. Downside - Cornish Tea is just like any other tea-bag tea only without the flavour."

"Location, parking, staff, restaurant, bar and beds were all great. Clean too but the building is old and could do with some updating. Price reflected this though so not an issue. Staff were above great and really made the experience pleasurable. Views of Plymouth Sound were spectacular. Across the road you are instantly on Dartmoor. Being able to take our dogs was the best about it all. Someone even brought their horse and tethered them in the small field whilst they came in for a drink. Thank you we will visit again."

" A Beautiful Stay With Real Wow‑FactorThis property truly has the wow factor — it’s stunning inside and out, set in an equally beautiful and peaceful location. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather during our stay, which made the whole experience feel even more special.The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and the welcome hamper was such a thoughtful touch. The house itself is spacious, immaculately kept, and beautifully furnished throughout. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, giving us great nights’ sleep after long sunny days.We loved that there are a couple of lovely places to eat just a 10‑minute walk away, with Seaton only a further 10 minutes along the coast — perfect for relaxed strolls and easy meals out.We had a fantastic time and would definitely love to visit again."
