Luxury Cottage in the heart of St Andrews.

Welcome to No. 8 Southfield. No.8 is an extremely comfortable stone-built cottage dating from the 1890s located in a peaceful private development within 5 minutes walk of St Andrews town centre and 15 minutes walk from the Old Course. Fully modernised, furnished and equipped to a premium standard, the house comprises 2 bedrooms, lounge, dining room, kitchen and back garden. The dining room serves as a 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds. No. 8 is a perfect location for families or groups visiting St Andrews for any reason.

About No.8

No. 8 is furnished and equipped to a luxury standard with everything you could need for an exceptional, relaxing stay as you explore St. Andrews and the beautiful surrounding areas. The patio style back garden includes table and chairs and a small BBQ allowing outside eating. WiFi, TV, music system, washing machine. tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, nespresso machine and filter coffee set are all included. The property also comes with a private car parking space allowing hassle free access to the heart of St. Andrews.

No. 8 was new to the short term rental market in late 2019. I look forward to welcoming you to the cosy cottage, if you have any questions please just ask.

Wonderful kitchen and laundry setup for one night or many weeks! Can’t go wrong with this place! Within walking distance to everything, parking space provided, tucked away in a private neighborhood. Honestly this will be one of my go to locations when staying in St Andrews moving forward.

Splendid on Southfield

Kath and Ross were wonderful hosts. Communication was exceptional. Place is exactly as advertised. Location is just a 5 minute walk to all St Andrews has to offer; shopping, restaurants, harbor, Abbey etc. gas station less than a quarter mile away. Food stores Aldi and Morrisons about a mile away. Just a splendid location. Highly recommend and will stay here again when we return!

We had a fantastic stay at this property! We were two couples traveling together on a bucket list golf trip for our husbands, and this place was absolutely perfect.The unit was clean, spacious, and very comfortable—plenty of room for four adults to relax without ever feeling cramped. One of the biggest perks was having two full bathrooms, which was truly priceless for a group. It made getting ready in the mornings and winding down at night so much easier and more enjoyable for everyone.The kitchen was well-stocked with all the essential appliances, and the in-unit washer and dryer were a huge plus. After over a week of traveling before arriving in St. Andrews, being able to do laundry made a big difference and allowed us to pack lighter.The location was ideal—just a pleasant 15-minute walk into town, where we found grocery stores, great restaurants, and plenty to explore.Our hosts, Kath and Ross, were wonderful. They welcomed us with a thoughtful gift of wine and delicious shortbread cookies, which made us feel right at home. They also responded quickly to a minor issue with the freezer—great communication and care throughout our stay.We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting St. Andrews. It truly enhanced our trip, and we’re already talking about coming back for our next visit!

Golfing Holiday

The cottage and location were exactly as described and well placed for all of the activities around St Andrews. The cottage itself was very clean, well equipped and exceptional comfortable.Most importantly Kath and Ross our hosts could not have been more helpful, we had to make a small change to our booking which was dealt efficiently and without any fuss. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and the hosts to individuals or family's visiting the area.

Kath was proactive with suggestions for our visit and very responsive to questions. Check in was without issue and apartment afforded plenty of room for our family of 4. Home from home in a great location

We stayed here for a weekend whilst watching a golf tournament on the Old Course. The location, quiet but within an easy 10 minute walk of the centre of St Andrews and 15 minutes from the Old Course, was perfect for us. The car didn’t move from arrival to departure. The cottage is warm and cosy, well presented and equipped. The host communicated brilliantly throughout. We will definitely visit again. Thank you

We stayed for 3 nights in September 2024. Home was spacious and comfortable. Host provided lots of info on the home and the town. We would stay here again and would gladly recommend to others travelling in the area. One note, there was a few scented products in the home, this was an issue for one of our party with allergies.

We enjoyed our stay in St. Andrews. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We especially appreciated the location. We walked to castle, the cathedral, the old course, the harbor, and more. Shopping and dining were also close by. It made for a great vacation.
