「The property is lovely. Signage to the guest rooms on the first floor is greatly lacking and confusing. My room definitely needed a deep clean. Lots of dust on lamps, pictures, etc. The safe didn’t work. All relatively minor, but for the cost of the stay, it really should be pristine. Room service brought me fruit that was past its prime and even had mold on one of the strawberries. 」

「Hotel was good, comfort beds, regular clean rooms, pool in good conditions. The big issue was noise, Charlies had a parties with live music all nights. Ice machines broke. 」

「My stay was okay. The handle on my toilet was brook so I rigged it to work so I did not have to take the lid off every time to flush it. The 2nd day the fire alarm went off (not sure why) never got the all clear to go back in other then the alarm being turned off. I probably would not stay here again.」

「My new favorite Austin hotel! Really great boutique hotel just minutes from downtown and a couple of blocks off the lake and Austin greenbelt. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the hotel has a great sense of that famous "Austin Funkiness" while still feeling high quality, with great little details and touches everywhere you look. Having a hip austin coffeeshop on premises and many restaurants and bars within a short walk was also a plus. Can't wait to stay again!」

「This hotel is a landmark and was built in 1886. They offer a free tour of the hotel which I would recommend. It's very well maintained while keeping all it's original charm. Downtown location is perfect - we did not need a car to get around the city. Staff well very helpful, courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!」

「Very nice room and wonderful staff. Ice machine on our floor wasn’t working. :( Restaurant did not offer any “ordinary “ food.」

「Nice stay. Sad you have to pay for parking when no security provided. At least that we were aware of. However, front desk was nice. The bartender lady was the most friendly and knowledgeable person at the stay. She made our stay very welcoming and I didn’t drink alcohol. 」

「On march I stayed at the Element in Tukwila, WA and had an amazing experience, and that's why I decided to stay here in Austin. Great experience again! Different interior design, same very practical and convenient room layout with small kitchenette. The location is close to everything in downtown and the breakfast equally awesome and considerably better quality than your average hotel breakfast. 「There is lots of construction around the property, my only criticism, which isn’t the hotels fault. The area has a lot of new construction going up. 」
