“Fantastic little b & b in a perfect location, right on the waterfront”

“A lovely three night stay at Downton Lodge. Martin and Andrew are excellent hosts who ensure that they run a guest house with very high standards. Lots of details have been considered to provide everything one might need whilst away from home. Breakfast is cooked very well with high quality ingredients, and the hosts known the area in depth so that they can advise their guests of what to do and see. Overall, an excellent stay.”

“Lovely quiet location. Didn’t have breakfast but the dinner night before was lovely. Clean large room. Lovely shower. The only reason I wouldn’t give it top marks is because it had 2 of my pet peeves .. Firstly no plug socket next to bed .. and secondly i hate fixed shower gel bottles when its difficult to dispense! Other than those minor annoyances, it was a great stay. ”

“We enjoyed our stay at this historic, well-equipped vacation apartment. The property had everything we needed. While the walk into Dartmouth was more than just a gentle stroll, it was a great way to work up an appetite for the town’s restaurants and cafes. We found enough to keep us occupied in Dartmouth and only felt the need to use our car on a rainy day.”

“The location is fabulous and the hotel is full of character. The staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. Will definitely stay again.”

“Very nice property, most things required were supplied. Only disappointment was the pillows, ones supplie were old and very inferior quality plus they did not have pillow protectors on. This was the only downside ”

“Fantastic house & location. All of Dartmouth & Kingswear accessible without a car & excellent walks from the doorstep. Only issue was very tight vehicle access made more difficult due to local building work. Would love to return.”

“What a beautiful apartment with amazing views and a balcony, well equipped spotless and comfortable, my only slight complaint was that the car parking facility which we required wasnt clear until we got there, not having been to Dartmouth before , we could only unload at the property which then were steps down to the apartment, we had to park down in the town in the Mayors avenue car park then we didnt realise we needed the permit that was back in the apartment, so we had to drive back up to……

“Overall, a love experience. The property was decievingly spacious, clean and filled with great entrainment facilities. An added benefit of a washer/dryer that makes that going back home experience better. Car parking permit included also. A great way to celebrate a significant ceremony in a stunning part of the country. Would highly recommend and stay again when in the area. ”
