"Good location in central Kirkwall. Ate in Bar on successive evenings and the food was excellent. No dedicated parking but a pay parking site right outside with civilised charges and times so no problem there."

"The room was clean & comfortable, however it was noisy from car park outside window and from laundry next door. Draft from window, had to keep blind and curtains closed, to keep warm. Disappointed that even after discussing with 2 members of staff on 2 separate occasions, requirements for dog friendly room & eating, in advance of our visit, we were made to feel uncomfortable, when request not initially adhered to. Breakfast was plentiful & tasty first day, second day choice was limited. (little left)"

"The room was clean and comfortable. It needs to be made clearer in hotel advance information what the situation is. I was not aware until I arrived that the hotel I was staying in was in fact an annexe of the hotel nearby. That was a bit of a surprise. Being able to leave my luggage before and after check-in/check-out was appreciated when transport to and from the Ireland was early or overnight. Food and drink was of a high quality but rather expensive."

"Men he location is perfect. Very crntrsl. I got a room on ground level with my own entrance directly from the Main Street which was very convenient. The service level of the staff was very good, like checking in, breakfast and the bar."

"Where to begin…. Well we have already made a booking to have the privilege of staying at Mingro for two weeks next year! A well cared for cosy cottage in a fabulous location with direct access to the beautiful Rothiesholm beach. We loved the tranquil, peaceful setting and certainly didn’t miss WiFi or TV with so much beautiful scenery on the doorstep.We found everyone on the island very friendly and welcoming, always a smile and cheery wave. Researching family history we found the Heritage Centre to be a great resource and also learned so much chatting to some of the long established residents, hearing great tales of Stronsay in past times.We left Mingro feeling we had only touched the surface of all there is to explore and although Stronsay is not the easiest destination to get to it is well worth the effort."

"Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Eric (the host) could not have done more for us. Breakfast was fantastic. There was free parking provided. We were only a short drive from the main part of town - about 3 minutes? I would thoroughly recommend staying here."
