I've stayed at The Abbey Sands several times now as the staff are always helpful and friendly and it's an excellent location and good value for money. The rooms are well equipped and clean, although in general the decor is a bit tired and could do with a freshen up, especially the pool. Great breakfast, and plenty of parking available.

Very clean rooms, well maintained hotel very close to the seafront. Close to all the amenities, so plenty to do. Great staff and totally dog friendly. Lovely place to stay and would stay there again

The room was small but clean though the carpet was stained. The bathroom was very clean , even the retro champagne coloured suite was spotless!! Breakfast was adequate but not much choice and only instant coffee. The staff tried their best to be helpful. There is a parking fee of £9 a day but no guaranteed space. This is a cheap rather tired hotel on a noisy main road, and you get what you pay for. Don’t expect too much They don’t serve food either which is annoying after a long journey to get there, and we really would have appreciated it

We had a really nice stay at Abbey Sands Hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the location was brilliant, just a few seconds from the marina and lots of restaurants. Our room was spacious, tidy and the bed was comfortable. The cot for our baby was a lovely touch, and the bathroom was clean. We also enjoyed the bath! The hotel is a little dated and there’s no lift, which was a bit challenging with a baby and luggage, especially in the hot weather. The room was quite warm, but a fan was provided. The indoor pool was great, although we didn’t get to use the outdoor pool as it was under maintenance. Overall, a pleasant stay with a great location and lovely staff. With a few updates, it would be even better.

Our room overall was clean but the bathroom was very dusty and the towel rail needed a good wash. The dining room needed a deep clean, the chairs had ingrained food in crevices and the white plastic walling was grubby, there is a draped ceiling and the cloth is seriously dirty. The breakfast was good and plentiful with proper orange juice. We didn’t use the pool but went down and took a look and it looked nice but the doors leading down to it all needed a good clean

Went for one night . Really friendly staff and good location . Room was Executive Double. Nice and spacious with chairs sofa and good view . Bed was clean and tidy . Just room was a little dated and worn in places.

Old hotel. We stayed in room 121. The room was quite smelly. Looked clean with modern bathroom and bath and shower. Taps need deep cleaning. Windows on restrictors so it was unbearably hot. Tiny fan for the size of the room. Sleep quality was very poor as the pillows like rock and the heat. Parking is £9 overnight. Close to the seafront. Breakfast is available but it was so hot I just wanted to get outside. Probably won't stay again. Chaps on reception were really lovely and helpful.

Room was clean, only issue with room was it wasn’t a double bed it was 2 singles pushed together. Staff on arrival was very blunt and came across rude. Had a small swimming pool which was meant to be heated but wasn’t very warm so paid to use a swimming pool close by instead. Had to pay for parking which I wasn’t aware of at the time of booking.

I felt this hotel offered great value for money and having access to an indoor pool was a great surprise. The staff were attentive and helpful. The location is great, with Abbey Park, the seafront and bus stops right on the doorstep.
