"We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"The apartment was great, due to being a ground floor apartment they need to focus on the mustiness and either let people know if it’s dog friendly or cigarette friendly!! Jo was super good if there was an issue apart from the Wi-Fi was not great!!!!! Basics need to be looked at like a bottle opener, bought one and left it for the next occupants, all in all would stay there again."

The Grand Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The staff at this property are simply fantastic, so helpful and friendly, it really makes you feel like a valued customer. The facilities are as you would expect from a 5 star resort although the maintenance and cleanliness could definitely be better. Having said that the resort was in peak season for our stay and I appreciate that some of these things need attention when the hotel is not so full. Our room was great and comfortable enough, albeit a little tired and a few things did not work (which were reported) such as the safe and TV but it did not spoil our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh/hot and the dining room was spacious. The staff worked really hard to clear the tables and keep the food items well stocked even at the busiest of times. Overall another pleasant stay at The Grand Hotel. If you are looking for modern luxury this is probably not the place for you. But if you want a good location with friendly service then you wont be disappointed."
