「We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "art hotel". The decorations are nice, the kitchen was fully equipped, and everything was very clean. It's in a great location, right near Higashi Chaya. There are only two things to watch out for: - The stairs are very steep and can be difficult to climb with a suitcase. - There aren't a lot of places nearby that are open at night. But after our first night, we knew to plan ahead and this wasn't a huge deal. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again....

「The house overall is spacious, clean, and was comfortable for our group of 2 couples. The location is wakable to pretty much anywhere in Takayama. If you need more than 2 beds, make sure that you're OK sleeping on real futons on a tatami floor. I was comfortable but my husband would have appreciated more cushioning. The location is very quiet - we enjoyed the garden but were careful to be quiet since it is almost surreally silent all around. Two small caveats - there is a washer but no dryer,...
