"We stayed here 1 night for easy access to Nintendo Museum. Check in is 4pm and our reservation was 4.30, so we were worried it'd be a bit tight. We let the host know and the team were great at getting us checked in quickly and smoothly and set up for our museum trip. Honestly we're a bit sad we only stayed 1 night! It feels like staying in someone's house and the local neighborhood is quiet but still has restaurants and shops nearby. Walking along the canal in the morning we had a lovely chat...

"My room was unfortunately not very clean. I found hair all over that wasn’t mine and the shower door had a build up of grime. The floors are bamboo which is a neat feature but they all had black marks on them. The bed was uncomfortable with very tiny hard pillows and the whole room has a musty smell. It is a great location if you are taking the train a lot, but it is very far from most things you’d want to see and do in Kyoto. We were unfortunately unable to try the Onsen since we have tattoos but it seemed to be the main feature of the hotel. All around it was an okay 3* hotel but I wouldn’t recommend staying here."
