"The room was very clean. It was really quiet. Pleasant staff. They could use grab bars in the bathroom. Walking distance to restaurants. The Mexican restaurant next door was very good. "
"I will start with the good, the night clerk was helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Check in was easy and welcoming to my pet. I did have to sign paperwork stating only1 pet was allowed. It looked like a nice clean place to stop for the night. But, after dark, unsavory characters were roaming the property. At 1 AM I caught someone, who was clearly under the influence of illict substances, trying to break into my UHaul. He fled into a room 2 doors down from me, but didn't fully close the door. I spent the rest of the night, perched on my bed watching my vehicle through the window. Groups of people were stumbling back and forth through the parking lot, laughing yelling and screaming. At 2 AM a van arrived and I watched 2 women move multiple dog crates into the room next to mine. The dogs yapped, barked and whined for the next hour. Around 3 AM several men were yelling and cursing outside my door. It sounded like a fight was about to break out. At this point I decided to call the front desk, only to find the in room phone didn't work. I did see law enforcement drive through the lot 3 times, however the druggies had a watch posted and someone would yell out and they would all scurry into their rooms, only to return to their parking lot antics as soon as the car left. Overall, this was the worst hotel experience of my life. Don't be fooled by the cute exterior, this is a den of addicts and criminals and is not a safe place to spend the night."
"The hotel is very noisy. running water, showers (?) kept us safe up all night. Next morning, no eggs, no bacon, no sausage for breakfast. Allegedly, they did not receive their shipment. Only cold cereals…. Will no go back to La Quinta.."
"Couldn't hook up to WiFi. Had to use our hotspot. Outside litered with beer bottles and trash. Carpets on 2nd floor ripped, filthy, and bunched up. Staff not impressive. "
"Hampton Inn Woodstock, VA – Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Great location, near several restaurants, gas stations, highways and recreation.
- Beautiful scenery - the mountain views in this area are gorgeous!!
- The indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub were both the perfect temperature, clean, large, and relaxing.
- The free continental breakfast included hot waffles (regular and blueberry flavors), scrambled eggs, and sausage as well as cold options such as cereal, juices, yogurts, and muffins.
- Large lobby and breakfast area.
- End of street, quiet location
- In-room fridge
- Clean – the room furnishings, floors, bathroom and bedding were clean.
CONS:
- They are under “renovation” and the construction workers / equipment takes up several parking spaces that would have otherwise been available.
- The “finished” construction work in the rooms is not really finished. The carpet, tile, shower and vanity were new (and look nice), but several wall and floor trim and edging were missing, showing bare drywall and other noticeable unfinished construction. The wallpaper was still the “old” wallpaper and was peeling off the walls. I’m not sure why they didn’t complete an entire room before moving on to the next.
- The lobby, breakfast area, pool and hot tub all seem to be finished.
We would stay at this hotel again for the indoor hot tub, pool, free continental breakfast, and location.
